[Excerpt: Dark Imperium, Godblight] Guilliman meets the Emperor

/u/Wardog_Razgriz30: This is actually a really interesting excerpt because it provides some additional coloring to the fabled reunion of The Emperor and His Avenging Son.

Previously, we had Guilliman’s word that the Emperor never really cared about his sons and that they were all tools from the start. However, this shows that this is not exactly true.

In reality, Roboute was faced with the deathbed of a dying god. The Emperor after centuries of isolation, suffering, and disappointment has become a shadow in more ways than one. The man who united humanity no longer exists and has been replaced by an even more jaded husk that poses near limitless power. On top of that, the husk is visibly falling apart at the seams and is one bad batch of Psykers away from plunging humanity into the warp.

To Roboute, this is nigh incomprehensible and one final grain of salt in the wound that was being revived into this waking nightmare of a setting. The horror aside, Guilliman is physically and psychically unable to comprehend whatever message his father wants to give to him because he doesn’t poses the same level of Psyker power his brothers had. He only received the fragments he got at all because he was is a Primarch, a being born of the energies of the warp given flesh and “human” form.

It’s no wonder why he thinks the way that he thinks because Roboute Guilliman is struggling to comprehend what the hell just happened and all he could make out was a very vague “go save my imperium, lug wrench”.

  1. After listening to this I'm fairly convinced the Big E has got fairly horrible right now but it was good to hear he got his vengeance on Nurgle for that perma itch on his nose by burning up Nurgle's garden.

  2. The Emperor will become the next chaos god. In one way or another. Whether his consciousness is split in two or his entire being becomes it. I predict that the emperor will return with "The Angel" (Primarch 0) and start a two man crusade within the warp itself.

  3. Great video, love your work. Thank you.
More than 10k years of constant unimaginable suffering, betrayal of his loved ones and broken dreams plus he can't even heal himself because he has to channel all of his power to that infernal throne for humanity, still that man fights on without rest. If Emperor was my father and i was his primarch son, i would've been proud and fight on. Before anyone points out about angron, Angron's suffering compared to him is so little.

  4. I think what might happen is a split in consciousness as the god emperor will exist as a warp being and the emperor will be a human soul/body with a regenerated body but reduced power level who is kind of more like a balanched prophet of himself or the god form id imagine him kinda like being a mix of Lorgar and Sigismund.

  5. I love this sequence. It shows just how overwhelming and insane conversing with a god should be like. It is everything, all possibilities, all that could be, and all that can’t, all at once, forever and always yet never truly substantial all at once, and overwhelms the minds of mortals, even that of a primarch, so utterly that it is scarcely a dream after.

Yet it happened. It is happening. It was always happening and will always be happening. No memory of it can ever be complete because the memory is the moment and that moment is forever changing, and will forever change should Guilliman or Mortarian revisit it anew.

And that was Mortarians doom. That burnt Nurgles gardens. Because when Guillinan’s mind fled to that memory, and Mortarian in his Hubris followed, they literally returned to that moment, they were both there, before their father in real, unreal time, and their father was there with them as the Godblight ravaged Guilliman’s body and soul, and then there was only the Devine fury and fire of The God Emperor of Mankind.
