Certainly our government does not represent the people. Indeed, polls have shown that even when the people want something by a clear or even overwhelming percentage, the government does not give it to them. The most obvious example of course is that our country no longer even has a border.
A big part of the problem is the government assuming power and authority that is not constitutionally given it to it. For example, even if the Second Amendment did not exist, there is no constitutionally enumerated authority giving the federal government a role in regulating guns.
Some of the excess powers the government exercises are attained more subtly. For instance, when the income tax amendment was being voted on in the states, state legislatures were assured that the income tax would never affect average workers. Of course through inflation and other causes, now every worker is affected.
This is not representative government, when the people end up with oppressive laws that were never intended and even intended not to occur.
Hi father. This is not on subject but one I need answered. I live in Mississippi where there is no latin mass in the state. Iwas told by a traditional priest in Indianapolis where I used to live that I could watch the latin mass online live and that would fulfill my obligation to sunday mass. Fast forward 3 years ,I'm back in Indy visiting and I went to Holy Rosary catholic church that has both forms. I went to confession and asked a different priest if that was still true and he said that watching live online does not fulfill my obligation! Will please tell me the truth? I really look to you for direction. I want to be pleasing to Our Lord I just feel you know, yucky going to the novus ordo. Thank you for your swift response! God bless you 🙏
Republicans in America have Conservative Christian values and are United with God and the traditions of the Catholic faith, the church that Christ built. Christ is our King. The Democrats in power do not acknowledge God and are tied to free masonry and organized crime, wickedness. Dont confuse the politics here.
There is an error in the teachings of Christ, with the Mega churches that are politically compromised. They are on the wrong side and have confused many people by teaching a different Christ., one that claims Jesus taught the gospel of prosperity, when in fact He taught the Gospel of Salvation. They are suffering from a diabolical confusion

You speak the hard truths that we need to hear and know in this day. 100% agree with you about what America is and how it has become its own end in most peoples lives. If Christ was the center and end and reason for this country then it would be successful. Unfortunately that is not the way it is. I wish all priests could speak the truth as you do. I ❤ Father Mawdsley. I made a large oil painting of Sacred Heart of Jesus in the old masters style but not quite as realistic. Yesterday, I enthroned it on my fireplace mantel with the ceremony from Father Mateo's book. Christ is King, and June is His Sacred Heart month. Glory to God, our King!
