Any successful model might be described as “super” but not every successful model is a “Supermodel.” That designation is most accurately used to describe a group of one-name-wonders who captivated pop culture in the late ’80s through the ‘90s. Hamish Bowles explains how Supermodels changed the world and paved the way for Instagirls.

love this style of video
Interesting decision to not even mention Gisele but include Lila Moss, someone who under no circumstance would have ever booked a single job or even gotten signed to an agency if not for her mother.
If instagram was eliminated overnight, Naomi Campbell would be a supermodel. The same cannot be said for the current trend of instagram girls with famous parents.
How was it that they were able to skip the Brazilian / Eastern European wave which ushered in the Supermodel era into the new millennium and basically paved the way for the InstaGirls? How can one skip and ignore the phenomenon that was Gisele???!!!
Where are the 80s supermodels?they were revolutionary too!
Where is Yasmeen Ghauri
When Vogue does not name Claudia in this Video but Donatella does on her show you see who knows the real Icons. Claudia and Naomi where everywhere.
Excellent video!❤️
Naomi is right when she said Gisele was the last supermodel. there are no super models in the 20s
I wish I was extremely Beautiful like supermodels.
the name “super” model sounds trash tbh
Why the exclusion of Claudia Schiffer? 🤔
UO: Kate Moss killed the supermodel. She was a supermodel, but everyone after her was always a little less super.
This video just shows how much beauty standards have declined over the years. And don't get me started on the nepo models. 🥴🥴
He never said the name CLAUDIA SCHIFFER!!!! I am shocked!!!! Claudia was the number one supermodel in the 1990s!!!!!!! And he didn’t even say her name!!!!!!!!!
I love this style of video. Please keep it up! 🙂
💘
Why are we always forgetting Yasmeen Ghauri ?
What a great flashback video! Very well done, super iconic.
This was very well done Vogue.
Fight me, but my impressions of today’s „super models“ (talking to you Kendall, Bella, Gigi) is that they got into modeling because of nepotism, insta clout and the glamorous life style that comes with it and not because of the passion for the craft or real talent. They walk like horses and there is no grace and no charisma at all. I can only think of Imaan Hammam as stunning regarding the newer generation. Overall, nothing will ever beat the divine models of late 80s/beginning of 90s ✨ the nostalgia is real!
Omg I forgot about Fashion Cafe 😆
why you guys never talk about Gia Carangi and your relevance to model industry? You even not mention how was the 70's and 80's models. But I have to admit it's an amazing video
the end was cruel😂
More content about models please, I love it ❤️❤️
MORE SUPA CONTENT PLEASE! Loved this Vogue
What an interesting video! Love it👏👏
Linda! ♥️
They did not said a single line about Gisele, but I'll give it a pass, since this video is about supermodels not ubermodels.
Y’all really skipped Coco , Karlie and Jordan’s generation like that? Ok 🙄
Where is Gisele on this list Vogue? The most paid model on the world 🌎🇧🇷
Love the video – a 73 Questions with Christy, Linda, and Naomi each would be a dream.
What about Kim Alexis, Carol Alt, Renee Simonsen, Cheryl Tiegs, Kelly Emberg, Iman etc….they were the first models know by their names, not by their pics
