  1. I thought AGS was proving everyone wrong after the resilience fix update… But then they prove without a shadow of a doubt they're out of touch with the community after these changes. Goodbye New World!

  2. Pvp now is just stacking plate tanks heals and mages. Yes im talking about war because its the only thing this game have and they balancing based on that which is wrong. Unless they introduce arena this type of specific class counter type fix wont come up in this game. It's really sad that i think the game will get bad with these changes before we get to that point.

  3. I think it all is about balancing the extremes to be a "little" closer to the baseline performance for all weapons. The "best" weapon at countering melee mobility or hard CC should be good at that role, while not being so oppressive individually (or when multiples are used together) that it drastically impacts the "fun" of other players. Hard CC weapons are always a tricky area to balance. The ice "stun" spam on Live is a bit too oppressive, but similarly, being able to simply jump out of it on PTR is clearly not intended behavior and kills the entire purpose of the immobilizations.

Similarly, the damage-per-second in ideal circumstances should not swing excessively between weapons to the point of some doing literally twice the damage potential as others, especially if their "ideal circumstances" are much easier to achieve. Musket is a good example. A "landing every single headshot" without fail against a target with "normal" defenses still does not compare to the damage potential of just swinging most melee weapons, especially if "flanking" is the only requirement for vastly out damaging the Musket.

This isn't to say that Musket as a long range hit-scan weapon should DO the same damage as a back-stabbing melee weapon, but the gulf between the two should not be as excessive as it currently is.

Similarly, the amount of hard CC you get from Ice Gauntlet SHOULD be less than Hammer, but it shouldn't be "half" or less like it currently is on PTR. Hammer and IG are the premiere hard control weapons in the game. These are their specialty areas. It makes no sense if you don't "fear" this element of the weapons and active try to avoid them through skilled dodging or positioning.

They could simply replace the hard CC on the Heavy on IG heavy with something that is still good but less oppressive, like making it apply a 2 second 50% Slow. This would allow players to try to still dodge out of the next incoming Heavy or two to avoid being chain slowed, but still gives the IG user a good chance to slow their advancement consistently. Trading a hard, short duration lock down for a consistent Slow would be a great compromise for both the IG user and their target, while keeping out the annoyance of both players having to track an invisible cooldown on a hard lockdown.

Fire Staff's melee line is another great example. It's potency is no where near that of a melee range weapon even with the buffs, and it comes with significantly higher risk of just being interrupted constantly due to no Grit. They could add something like a passive that has "After applying 5 stacks of Burning, gain Grit for 5 seconds." This would enable the flame thrower and Incinerate to actually see some use in real combat. Incinerate hits like a truck but is absolutely impossible to land in any realistic scenario due to how easy it is to chain stagger the user.

  4. I agree this is way too many nerfs. Literally every single ability got nerfed. This is something Warcraft does and if Amazon does it too now then I won't be playing much longer.

  5. I think he's missing the point. This game is not balanced around 1v1s. Just like wow. Some classes cannot beat other classes its that simple. This is a group pvp game. These changes are not "too much" when you look at it from that view. Now im not saying theyre perfect but hes only looking at it from a 1vX view. Which is not at all what the game is trying to balanced around.

  6. Void G is OP, honestly people are just expecting things to show big numbers and all of their judgement is built on that, which is just noobish, I agree Ice G was wrongly nerfed though.

  7. i agree with the fact, that mage's weapons got nerfed to the ground
what i don't agree with xaryu is the fact that each weapon should feel op
i think exactly the opposite , because if every weapon is op, any player who manage to do the combo wombo will win, it's going to play how you place your combo and your enemy will want to outplay by making your combo fail , and probably will make the fight based on 2 things ( mouvement , and timing ) , that's a very linear gameplay
on the opposite side, if no weapon was OP , this should make more gameplay for ''big brain'' players and will make room for further versatile combo , strategic combats etc etc

  8. This nerf on ice gauntlet doesnt make sense.. its easier ags just take out of the game the ice gauntled, becouse if this nerfs happen, no one will play with this weapon.. will be a dead weapon

  9. It's really sad to see, honestly I think more than the bugs or lack of polish, shitty balance like this will kill the game for so many players. Really hope they tone down some of the more drastic changes.

  10. Lets hold the freaking out until its pushed to live and remember this is PTR. This is NOW the time everyone needs to voice their opinions and give feedback from their experience with their PTR changes.

  11. I‘m glad I quit. They nerf stuff for no reason, there is literally NO endgame content except grinding brainless for gear and so on. Amazon should stick to selling books and shit and get the hell outta gaming.

  12. xar is finally feeling how its felt to use a bow since the beginning its funny to her your friend wine because i cant deal with melee as an archer and your nerf make you get a taste

  13. theyre seperating the melee from range! thats what happening. i agree with you xar. i think that theyre really pushing melee for large scale war. which seperates range and melee. bow isnt that bad.

  14. I don't play ice gauntled but i've played many duels against one and with time i got used to baiting out those showers and storms and i'm very pissed at how hard they went with the nerfs. Must be very "Heartbreaking" seeing your favourite weapon gettin thrashed like this. I really hope for you they revert most if not all of those nerfs cause you seemed to enjoy the gauntlet so much.

  15. You make mage look so fun to play, thats why i also chose to play mage when i first started playing.

So fuck this nerf its gonna make it the shitiest weapon in the game hopefully they Will revert the nerf…

  16. “That’s just blatantly wrong” bro you’re using a direct melee counter and acting like it’s a fair fight I thought you were fun to watch but this one gets the thumbs down dude

  17. People are forgeting that mages are AoE casters not a duel rogue. Im a mage too and Im ok with the mechanical changes. Some of the damage values could be tweaked but mage is still very much viable, especialy in wars. Also the "you can jump out of the shower" is not an excuse for anything because its an non intended exploit. I agree with some stuff Xaryu says but this is mostly a very much biased opinion.
