  1. Man… I remember just before this came out in 2016, I bought the Nathan Drake collection and played through all 1-3 uncharted games back to back before I played 4. A couple of years later in 2018 I played through it again, and then once more when I got my ps4 pro during covid in 2020. I just can’t stay away from this game. It came out in 2016 but it still looks, feels and plays the best out of most games, even from 2020 onwards. I got a Ps5 last year, and I literally just redownloaded this game for the 4th time a couple of weeks ago. This time I am going for the platinum. I completed it on crushing a few days ago and now I’m picking up all of the other trophies. I’ve almost got it lol. This game is a masterpiece. Only TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Spiderman and God of War comes close in terms of visuals, story, setting and gameplay in recent years. Every other game developer needs to step up their game, literally.

  2. this game came out right as i was in the middle of my high school exams, i didnt want to fail and be forced to redo that year, being stuck in a place i dreaded SO MUCH, but i also just HAD to play this game as much as possible. so i did, i never actually studied bc that so damn hard, but i managed to pass the exams (barely, and mostly thanks to my high grade in english haha) i wouldnt have studied even if i waited to play the game untill i was done with my exams anyway so it didnt matter really all it did was make a nerve wrecking period actually survivable by distracting me from it all. (if only my history exam was about pirates, but noooo it was about the dutch golden age instead bleh)

  3. The Madagascar chase may be one of the best gaming set pieces of all time, certainly one of my favorite gaming moments. Something about a moment so "cinematic" yet so hands on is, like you said, a masterclass.

  4. I'm currently doing a series on my channel about the greatest set piece moments of all time and the uncharted series had so many to choose from. I'm a grown man who still cries at the end of this game and not ashamed to admit it.

  5. 21:16 i appreciate the efford but it wasnt necessary. what they did with nadine was unrealistic. plain and simple. with that being said, nobody can really critisize how op nadine is without looking like a complete hypoctice. we loved and root for nate in all of these games while he pulls all types of op mary sue shits.

the only problem with nadine was her boss fight sucked dicks hard. but, not because she won. because it has no decent gameplay in it. its all cutscenes and cinematics.

  6. Just want to add the not so small detail but still love that Nate and Elena named their daughter after Nate's mother, Cassandra.

Would love to see you cover the Watch Dogs series or Sleeping Dogs

  7. This game is so good, thanks for a great analysis of it!

Next, I'd love to see you do InFamous. Doing Second Son first allows you to enjoy similar graphical fidelity to this game and it was a kinda new beginning (that went nowhere unfortunately) for the franchise.

  8. The only commentary I always enjoy and respect about games… he has videos on bad games and REALLY TRIES to bring a good light to them. I also love the comment about wanting to go outside after finishing the game. That effect is real

  9. Everytime I see the last shot of the book with kid Sam and Nate, the picture of U1 and Sic Parvis Magna I cry. Without fail. I love this franchise and I love these characters and I'm glad it's ended because 4 is a perfect send off to characters that all deserve happiness

  10. It's worth noting that, when this game came was in development, copper was regularly in the news as a common target for theft, the price spiked, so brand new homes were being stripped in the dead of night, sometimes just hours after the electricians and plumbers had finished the job; multi-ton spools of cable (like those depicted) were being stolen off of industrial yards and factory sites…

It's pretty akin to piracy on the high seas, and; I felt; was to punctuate the juxtaposition of his mundane life with his addiction to the thrill of treasure hunting… same thing, different stakes

which they double down on with the pong gun later

EDIT: right now, copper is nearly $10k a ton. presuming the whole cargo was copper spools like those, each worth around $800-1500, it could clear near $1 million+ total… that's not chump change…

  11. Fun fact: one of the leader pirate paintings is a Monkey island Easter egg

(The blond bearded guy with the burnt painting who's symbol is a monkey is Guybrush threepwood legal reasons he's just named guy wood )

  12. on the topic of crunch that you got onto near the end of the video, its never going anywhere but thats ok, every industry has stressful points of higher workloads, I work retail and I would say crunch in the gaming industry is like working black Friday, Christmas eve, or Superbowl sunday if your american (which yes Superbowl Sunday is just as packed as black Friday) but crunch becomes a problem when it goes from occasional maybe a couple times a year to months on months of crunch, when crunch time becomes the normal time thats when it becomes a problem

  13. My first time playing the chase sequence remains the best experience I've ever had in a game. When the motorbike slid to a halt on the docks and the chase music cut away I just put down my controller and applauded.

  14. I just couldn't believe just how GOOD this game was/is. Gameplay (without the weight of having upgrade trees that all games have nowadays), graphics, story, drama and some of the most realistic personal relationships. And that's to say nothing about the polish of this game.
