Most states it's illegal to collect rainwater
Where I live in Australia we only have tank water. We have a 50,000 litre concrete tank that captures all rain water
Anyone who “tricks out” their rainwater garbage can collection doesn’t live in reality. Do not follow a gay person‘s advice as it likely will not be functional. People are so ridiculously weird. What a waste of time and money.
Are you serious????
Not all hacks are winners.
I picked up four heavy duty food grade 55 gallon drums from a food processing plant. They can't reuse them, so they give them away.
Those four containers weigh 1700 pounds. A mere.40 gallons will with 320 pounds. Make sure of your supports.
If drums are cheap, consider drilling a lot of drainage holes, and turning them into low-profile rolling compost buckets.
That is a great idea but believe it or not, there are some cities and towns that have regulations against recovering rainwater. As stupid as it sounds, it would be a law I would break without hesitation.
Excellent, 👍👌, I'm going to try that. Off to Home Depot I go.🏃
Great idea..thank you
this was awesome. thank you!!!
Rainwater is now toxic
dont need the spigot , spot where it can leak , if you have power sump pump to the hose
that's a good idea, it can be used to wash clothes, and so all the water doesn't end up in the streets, you can pick it up later and take it to one place 😁
Just be careful not to collect for consumption if you have a tar and shingle roof, unless you plan on filtering it. Those chemicals aren’t good for us.
The garbage can way to much going on
The problem with this is what plastic is the can made out of? If it’s number 6 you are subjecting yourself to dangerous chemicals that can leach into the water.
On my way to wall mart to get the can. You made this so easy. Thanks.
It needs overflow cutout with pipe or water will start to go into your basement/crawl space.
I always buy lidded cans.
Fantástico 👍🎉
Nicely done!
Beautiful
Gorgeous ❤
I've done this for my cleaning solution at work but used o-rings
Do be careful as to the laws & regulations of your own state. In some states this is illegal and punishable with a fine and/or jail time. In California it's legal to collect water only in the way this video describes. It just come off your own roof and is the only way to legally collect it for private use. Due to mosquito regulations this can change and/or the water must be covered.
AWSOME! Every lil bit we do to help our Mother Earth “ counts.
