  1. 20 years, eep! I still remember my first experience with the series, I got a PS2 when I was 15 (as a bribe so I wouldn't tell Dad that my Mum won money on the pokies, lol) and it came with a demo of R&C. It had two levels – Metropolis and Blackwater City. I don't know if anybody noticed the Easter Egg when they played it, but Darla Gratch called Blackwater City "Planet Blackwater" (of course, it being on Rilgar). Just 2003 calling my name all over again!
In the 2010s, I got myself a PS2 again and had my friend who worked at EB source all the games available, including Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank. I paid a small fortune for SAC and I didn't even finish it! (Don't worry, I haven't even touched Size Matters…)

  2. From some time I really revaluated my opinion about the series which game on which place. Coming with story, gameplay, weapons, speedruns etc. For me my list is:
    1. Up your Arsenal
    2. Going Commando
    3. Ratchet 1
    4. Ratchet Deadlocked
    5. Rift Apart
    6. A Crack in Time
    7. Into the Nexus
    8. Tools of Destruction
    9. Quest for Booty
    10. Secret Agent Clank
    11. Size Matters
    12. Ps4 reboot
    13. Q Force
    14. All 4 One
Love to see others opinions about the games we've grown with and just still like to play but evaluate it differently with time. Very liked the time spent with your vid! Love to all of you!

  4. I like size matters despite its glaring faults, but I can honestly say that yeah it does have the least polish of any ratchet game. It's one of my least favourite ratchet games overall, but I still enjoy playing it now and then.

My favourite is actually Tools of Destruction.

  5. As a kid, I would play RAC 2 RAC 3 and Gladiator/Deadlocked a ton. My favorite was Rac 2 as a kid, with Deadlocked being arguably the least favorite back then, but upon replaying all of them rebuying Rac 2 and Rac 3 with my original copy of gladiator still working to this day at around 2021, I've grown to prefer Gladiator as my favorite, while Rac 2 would probably be my least favorite out of those three now. As you mentioned in the video, Rac 2 has got some problems, most notably it's bosses and story. The bosses were either just there or out right bad like with the big thug for less robot. Jumping to turret to turret, with the turrets not feeling so good to shoot out of in the first place, for about 10 minutes isn't what I consider a good way to spend my free time. There Is only one boss I like from the game and that's the secret boss fight, but even then, the swamp monster is extremely cheesable with the decoy and the swamp monster just doesn't have any good means to threaten the player through offense, asides from it's bullshit bite.

  6. I actually think that what has kept Ratchet and Clank around is the zany adventures they get up to, and the gameplay didn't just rely on the platfroming itself, the gunplay got way more refined and to keep things really fresh each release had a new cast of weapons that players couldn't wait to mess around with.

  7. 0:13 ARGH! Why did you have to remind me of that? It hurt!
Seriously, though, this was a great video and well worth the wait! I agree with most of the rankings. As for my personal Number 1 R&C, it used to be Up Your Arsenal, but, now, I honestly think Rift Apart takes that spot…..

  8. Mate being horny for Rivet is NO EXCUSE to put Ratchet and Clank 2 that lower the list.

My brother in Allah it was second place at least. But to be fair I haven't played Rift apart yet (do you think a dole bludger can afford a PS5 in this economy)

  9. going commando or lock n loaded i don't really like, for me i always had a game breaking bug where i got the infite loading glitch. i could never beat it until the ps3 collection. andthe ice world also riuned it for my cause i feel the yetis spawn too much and i feel may be the spongest things in the franchise.

  10. I'm honestly surprised we agreed about Deadlocked. It's exactly where I would have placed it, too. I will say that I like parts of Size matters in concept more than execution.

  11. About Q-Force, I've seen it said a lot of times the main issue with the weapon damage gets sorted if you level them up once!
As in, all the weapons start off so shitty you would never use them but level them once and they start to shine!

  12. So interesting hearing a fellow fan's perspective on the series, especially when our top 6 is essentially the same just in a different order for a few different reasons (one of which being I am EXTREMELY biased towards RAC3, it was my gateway into the series about 14 years ago and I'm almost physically incapable of criticizing it in any way)

  13. Up Your Arsenal was legitimately my childhood, I remember replaying the entire game over and over again just to experience the story again and upgrade every weapon to the max

  14. I remember rift apart being revealed and god the internet did so much to rivet before we even got to know her name kinda scary but funny to see your favorite child hood Francise become the new talk of the town because of reasons…

  15. The B2 Brawler, brawler, braw-ler is easy to do without taking a hit, there's even a skill point for it. If i can do it aged 10 you can do it aged more than 10.

The Taunter is great to lure enemies into the mines from the mine glove.

I haven't played Rift Apart cause I don't have a ps5 🙁 and getting one just for 1 game even if it is R&C isn't worth it imo.

But I'd rank my top 5 as, with 1 as the best.
    5. Gladiator
    4. Crack in Time
    3. Up your arsenal
    2. R&C 1
    1. Locked and Loaded

Gladiator for me misses the exploration and the levels was ehh, I never had online on my ps2 and playing the pvp in 2 player mode was a bit lacklustre. I feel like 2 had the best with the refined controls from 1 but added more to it.

  16. Great video, man! Ice actually been replaying through the series myself, introducing it to a friend who never played the games before. Probably gonna skip Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank😂 but we just started Deadlocked and I forgot how much I loved that game. I am unfortunately playing the PS3 remaster but oh well, et eez what et eez. I think I agree with a very large portion of your opinions and reasonings for this list, tbh. Regardless, I greatly enjoy your commentary for this series retrospective-esque video!

  17. Three quick notes:
You had the opportunity to call All for One "Awful One", and with the accent I genuinely thought you were making that joke.
How did you mention RaC 3's music without including Zeldrin Starport just doing 11/8 for the sake of it?
Low-key the first two Infamous games were brilliant PS3 exclusives.

  18. Size Matters at the bottom? It's at least better than All4One and the other spin-offs. I can excuse the game's clunkiness due to it being on the PSP and being outsourced. It may be a mediocre R&C game, but it's still quite a good 3D combat platformer on its own. I would've placed it at like 11 or something. Definitely not as fitting for the PSP as SAC.

At least we both agree that R&C 3 is the weakest of the "golden" entries in the series. I honestly think it's extremely overrated.

  19. Rift Apart is one of the 2 big reasons I want a PS5 (the other being Demon Souls), as R&C has been a big part of my life too. I used to have the big clunky PS2, and was super sad that Up Your Arsenal had trouble playing on it. My fav weapon to this day is the Plasma Launcher

  20. love to see someone elses favorite Ratchet and Clank is deadlocked. I loved the commentators the entire game and the weapon customization was the best in the series (considering most games had none). its just a shame that the game is so hard to get ahold of without having a ps2 or spending $80 or so a year for the playstation+ upgrade version.

  21. You know, I'm glad that, despite all the changes across the years, You're still the same creator at heart I've come to love.

And I'm beyond giddy seeing you talk about Ratchet again!

  22. Growing up, I loved size matters so much. I've beaten the game 11 times roughly and it wasn't until around 3 years ago (as a jr in high school) that I discovered that the game was objectively awful. Childhood nostalgia can work some crazy wonders
