  1. R/nostalgic and why did we not remake the side rods and piston rods for the steam trains these were the years for it now we need thousands of money just to buy these antique amazement that were never remade again

  2. This really goes to show how under-utilised the train series is at Lego. It's a huge missed opportunity. If they released a new train shed, level crossings with control tower, individual train cars and freight cars….they would cash in big time.

  3. 12:14 as a transformers fan, i can asure you die cast parts will always make any figure or toy in general much more resistand, durable and reliable. However, companies tend to get rid of them due to production costs

  4. I got the 7727 for my 7th or 8th birthday. My parents must have saved for months. Best birthday gift ever. I remember initially having to use a power wall adaptor to provide voltage because they then had to save up for the Lego transformer/controller. I also eventually got the stop/start signal , and some switch tracking. And finally the depot with the crane. Wow. What a mind trip this has been. Thankyou !

  5. 0:47 strange that there are clearley plenty of plates and sloped pieces but lego couldn't design a more realistic loco. i guess cost had to come into it. Would be interesting to have just the available pieces from that era and see how good you could make a loco

  6. 2:41 – lol no. We are not crazy about the Wild West. In fact, the Frontier Spirit is the reason why the U.S. is so messed up today. That's where the idea came from that everyone should have their own gun and take the law in their own hands. We don't like that in Europe because we value life and law.

  7. LEGO was great as long as every piece they produced could be used for many purposes because that was the whole point of the toy: Build the model you bought, build the second model, but then, build your own stuff with the bricks. Today we have sets full of pieces that you could not use to build anything else no matter how hard you tried. LEGO has become Playmobil.

  8. I had that 90s passenger train – that was PEAK lego design IMO. I also had a set around that time that you did not include, it was cargo crane with one car (IIRC).

It was so cool. I wish I made a lego train city back in the day.

    Great video!

  9. There is a Lego Tram that is sold by Wiener Linien the public transit service of Vienna Austria. I don't think that it is produced anymore, but there are some still available on the website.

  10. Yes, the 90´s trains didn´t go for the most realistic approach but they were better than the bland stuff that came in the early 2000s. I mean come on they had like 6 cargo trains, how could one not like that? Also back then they offered alternative building ideas on the backside or last page of the manuals.
