In part 13 of Everspace 2, Rev jumps on a side mission called Gathering Dust. Rev starts a brand new game and guides you on game setting, how to start your game, what to do first in game, how to use all gaming controls and how to upgrade your ship and character in the year 2022. Rev’s gameplay and walkthrough will have all cutscenes, dialogue, ships, upgrades, armor and weapons. On top of the two star systems EVERSPACE 2 pilots will be able to explore in Early Access at launch, we plan to have four to six more as well as several additional player ship subclasses beyond the Vindicator, Interceptor, Sentinel, Striker, Gunship, and Scout at launch.

I watch the Rockfish livestream on Fridays, I have to say the summer update is going to really switch up how the game is played I think. New system, ice and fire planets, the ability to rotate through more ships in case the station doesn't have one you want, also if you find the ship you like but the perks aren't to your liking you can randomize those again. The crafting has been honed and made less tedious (you can just choose to craft a catalyst and it will tell you what missing resources you need).
I don't know if you'll replay it with that update but it's definitely going to change things up. I've been waiting patiently for the update, we're a month into summer and every week I keep my fingers crossed lol.
Rev, your reviews are great, but this studio is throwing away players, particularly the older returning players who can really appreciate how far the tech has come since we last had a lot of time to play. long and hard. Your videos are outstanding but less than 200 views in 5 days, it's not your work, I've invested 1200 hours of my 'free time most nights watching over my mom as dementia takes its toll, and being there for my senior dog as we lost her battle with cancer, the side mission was a great staycation, your walkthroughs a priceless alternative to frustration.
I praised this on Facebook for months but the puzzles and bosses are not for many returning retiree gamers in their late 60s and on, whose reflexes are not what we had 30-40 years ago when we had much more time to practice. Your walk-throughs are outstanding, but the game is not being shared and recommended to enough people. Players who need a trusted guide the most have or are giving up on this game, our free time with those we care about is increasingly precious.
Most of the close friends I shared you with and this game with, found the boss challenges too much like a hazing, and wish they had invested their time in sleeping to make better use of their free time with valued companions while they can.
I will never again share and highly recommend a game until I have played it through, I didn't learn from Mass Effect Andromeda, Fallout 76 and now Everspace 2. 1200 hours, and I never get past the first two bosses, before the new update changes make a fool out of me.
I've restarted twice since you told me I could play the whole game on easy or very easy. but now when checking the difficulty settings I get the message: 'Difficulties Can not be changed in the main menu, start or load a new game.
I have twice restarted but the game kicks into 'normal' out of the easy to very easy range as soon as I start the Maddocks asteroid chase. Please try this with Magic of Umami and see if I missed something.
The devs probably never made a less than normal level play option for the bosses so maybe it's too much work to let us pass on the Boss challenges to get to the other star areas of the game. But this game and your walkthroughs deserve better with those returning players who can really appreciate a classic game like we were once master explorers with.
.
I remember that before I started over, (after the game left Early Access) at first, it looked like I was going to sell the databank. BUT… shortly before I docked, I changed my mind and returned.
Basically one of those moments where it'd look like I was one of those mercs without morals or conscience. …until a while later. (where I returned the databank/archive)
Rewards: Returning the databank to the Archivist gave me 2000 xp. Returning it to the trader gave 500 xp and 4k credits. 🙂
You actually get a bloodstar decal by returning the archive, which I reckon is the only way of getting it
