Everett police chief seeks permanent honor for fallen officer



Officer Rocha was shot to death on March 22, 2022, in the Starbucks parking lot while he was investigating a convicted felon moving guns between two cars.

Few remember it more vividly than Everett police chief Dan Templeman.

“Every day we think about officer Rocha,” Templeman said. “We remember him and we honor him.”

While the area may still be a source of pain to many in the community, Templeman wants to turn it into a place of healing by renaming Trojan Way as “Officer Dan Rocha Way.”
