Even More HUGE New World Changes! (Combat, Crafting, Questing & More)

Amazon continues to make some pretty sweeping changes to New World in response to player feedback. I’m really liking what I see. Let’s jump into it. Thanks to Tree of Life: Odria for sponsoring today’s video, check it out here: https://bit.ly/35QO6Bn

  1. Even Bless Unleashed's (which is a trash game) CBT was way more fun than New World. Here is the problem with New World: they have no clue what they want to do with this game. There is no lore behind the game and they have no clue where to take the game. It's like they came up with the idea of making an MMORPG, built up some basic elements which other games in the genre have and thats it. 0 creativity. Generic trash. They have no clue how to progress further to make something ground breaking and unique. The no class system is awful, the character creation is awful, the characters appereances are awful (armors, weapons, etc – all look garbage, 90% of the ppl look the same), the guild content is meaningless which equals: the social side of the game is dead. The crafting is still meaningless with their overhaul. The 50v50 siege is trash. The world bosses are lame. There is like 10 types of enemies in the game scaled up. No sea content in such a game is a joke. Ahh… no need to continue… just another failed MMORPG that breaks our heart, because we waited for sooo long for a new BIG MMO, and this isnt it either. Shame. The only quality MMORPG coming this year will be Lost Ark, but that top down experience isnt for everyone. New World, Elyon, Bless Unleashed are all failures.

  2. I still can't believe I got banned for the rest of the preview after my game crashed in the middle of a war, and costumer support was amazon so you can guess how that went… Got replied to by a robot saying they couldn't give any details about why I was banned to even begin with and that was the end of that

  3. I think it would be cool if some weapons were skill based, and others not, like some weapons have really good skills and decent normal attacks, but some have really good basic attacks and okay skills

  4. This game looks promising for an really NEW MMO comming this year but to be honest to pay 60 euros in order to TEST the game and give feedback to the company… thats ridicilous, they should pay us intead for testing the game not the other way around. QA is a payeed job after all. If they want my money then they better release a game in a very good state with low amount of bugs and stable services otherwise it will be a pure scam like Bless was.

  5. I originally saw the preview event and immediately disliked the game and knew it was going to be a failure. And then they delayed it.
And after seeing all the updates, I started actually getting excited and was hyped for the game.

BUT… Removing the 3 weapons is a major problem. The game just went from a unique system to quite possibly the most basic and stripped-variety within just one move of removing the 3rd weapons. They NEED to either add skills, or some major overhaul to combat. Having 6 abilities is brain-dead. Nobody is going to enjoy that.

  6. Funny I just started researching this game today and I was thinking "eh 3 weapons is a bit much, it's just going to be a weapon juggling game" then I see your video outlining patch notes with 2 weapon limit. Ok, I'm in it now boys.

  7. More weapons! Shortbow (ranged/pet summoning), Mace (melee/tank), Greatsword (melee), Pistol (ranged), Dagger (melee/ranged), Ice Staff (ranged/control), Lightning Staff (ranged), Nature Staff (melee/healing), Chaos Staff (healing/pet summoning), etc… so many more to add. I definitely want to see more support based weapons for healing, tanking and crowd control.

  8. So you have 2 weapons. With 3 abilities each? So this is an arcade game with multiplayer functions? Am I alone in liking a more skills to work with in combat? My main issue with eso was only having 8 skills over two weapons. This is were mmos are failing. Yes it’s pretty. Yes it will be cool to play for about a day. But soon just using the same 6 skills over and over will get Boring and it’s very uninspired. But then you say. Just switch out the skills, nope. That doesn’t work. Because as history has shown us in eso. If you aren’t using the same 4 skills that are the meta that patch you will be sent away from groups. Much less raiding groups.

Back to wow classic for my old butt. I just don’t get the games you young’uns liek these days.

  9. So, about the party when you mention it's obvious that if you are at a party you get less EXP, that's the kind of system that makes it unfair for 2 players vs full party bots. If the system is not going to spawn more mobs in an area depending on your party size, or "PT Monsters" similar to what we had in Silkroad, then doing a party is only worth it when it's full or if there are party buffs to distribute damage vs Boss raids.

To encourage party forming and actually grinding with friends and thinking of how to build your party depending on the area you are grinding, I think the following is important:

    – Instead of a fixed amount of less EXP by joining a PT, just set it to Auto Share everything (the EXP gets divided in the count of PT players)
    – To encourage PT vs solo grinding (For example, Wizards are known for preferring low lvl areas and fast killing) I would like to see something like the below ideas:

    A) Work on the agro settings and hopefully give bards and clerics skills to reduce it from wizards.
    B) Spawn more monsters in areas with full PT's but not for the small ones.
    C) You could give a "PT" stat or "elite" to monsters after a while of grinding in an area, these mobs will have more HP and more dmg, making them ideal for PT's. and rewarding more loot and more EXP, these monsters depending on the area will require a certain strategy, making the bots die.
    D) Build Party skills, for instance, healers that can grant a shield to tanks and distribute the damage to others, bards that can play songs granting MP regen or MOV to tanks. etc

  10. I think the best part about the 2 weapons is how stupid the game looked with people having bow, massive hammer and staff all on their back at once. It looked terrible. 2 weapons is more immersive.

  11. I'd like to see more choices, one thing I'm worried about is that the players will all end up with the same optimized build. I'd also like to see more character individuality with this game, its one of my favorite parts of MMOs. I love the art and graphics of this game, its so much closer to real life than a lot of MMORPGs, I hope it feels that way. I also hope that it gets bigger in reference to the scale of the world- the bigger the better in my opinion. When gamers talk about an MMORPG, it should be possible to have more than one type of experience while playing it (the more the merrier in this case as well). If it has a million players but they are all doing effectively the same things sooner or later, then it was underdeveloped as an online experience. For example there should be, for instance, more then 3 different ways to heal. Or, 2 or 3 different methods of tanking. I like that its classless but I hope that that isn't why it lacks diversity. Anyways, still excited.

  12. I am in alpha and can say the combat changes are pretty trash for pvp. The PvE feels good but the PvP has been basically ripped apart. If the game isn't delayed again then it will be a PvE game with some really terrible PvP on the side. Basically like ESO with far less content. Changes that sound good on paper don't always play out that way, and certainly New world is suffering from this now.

It's no surprise though, with the recent Forbes article revealing more about the inner-workings of AGS, they are just trying to make any game a billion dollar game, and they put a guy in charge who doesn't/has not ever been a gamer or played games.

The questing changes are a joke, instead of pressing e on chests you press e on red barrels.

By the time the game comes out it will be so dumbed down that it will only be entertaining for 12 year olds and the most casual of gamers.

I also find it ironic that Force is asking for features they removed over a year ago, like weapon arts. I am looking forward to when the game launches and crashes hard, AGS' project lead will learn the harsh lesson that Twitch isn't a good place to collect feedback. Though any good marketing professional could have told him that, I'm sure he would not listen.
