EVE Online – Smuggler Hideout | Capsuleer Day XIX

Capsuleer Day XIX celebrations are here and with them come a whole new set of event sites! I dust off the old Gila so that we can explore the Smuggler’s Hideout combat site together.

  2. Used passive tanked Ham Drake, no issues apart from losing 4 T2 Hobgoblins, overall easy, 26 mil plus a CN Moa skin.
Some heavy DPS first room, Hurricanes hit hard, like running a L4 mission with neuts and webs.
Standard pve passive Drake fit apart from I fitted a one T2 shield extender and one T2 shield recharger rigs, other rig was T1 shield recharger.
Minimum resist was 70, good shield recharge rate plus good ehp, overall easy in this Drake.
Watch your Drones, they get hit hard.
TBH with my fit and all the webs could drop 10AB and fit another shield recharger and drop one from low slot and fit another T2 BCU.
Passive works well, CN Drake and Nighthawk would be good options.
Drake gets bonus to kinectic so used T2 fury and standard Scourge HAM's threw out.

  3. Thanks for the fit! If anyone is wondering… This is also doable as an alpha. I did it in a 500 Mil Gila (very similar fit). It wasnt really hard but I also was neuted out in the last room. Definitely fully focus on the boss at the end!

  4. Whisper whisper whisper. Why people after YEARS still can't understand the Gila starts with an H sound. I live adjacent to the Gila national forest named for the Gila monster. H H H H H.

  5. It seems that in the first two waves you are just sitting still, ship not moving. In the final wave the ship is moving. Could you explain a little more about that? Are you orbiting the boss or moving away from him?

  6. Thanks for the video, it was useful to gauge what kind of rats are at the sites. Some comments about the fit you used and suggested strategies (assuming you're flying a Gila):
    1) Fit a battery instead of the 2nd Multispectrum Hardener
    2) First kill the IKITSURA(s) (Trig Weapon and neut), Dragur (neut), Mantacores (like to attack your drones)
    3) Leave Cerberus (or a Tornado) to last for recharging etc.
    4) Kill everything else in between.
    5) Watch the Tornados for yellow box. Pull Drones when they go yellow, and that resets them back to your ship.
    6) If two Tornados, watch both, as above, and kill the one that yellow boxes. They have a hard time hitting the drones when they're up close to the Tornado.
    7) I use Caldari Navy Vespa Drones for their shield and respectable DPS. But pull drones whenever their shield drops to 50%. (I have 3 flights available to cycle between.)

I've done over 30 sites with this fit/strategy and it works great for me, and can go directly from site to site.
