Who are some of your favourite bass players?
is the name of the venue Astoria?
You do such a wonderful job at putting people at ease – appropriately sharing your own experiences, without taking over, to allow the guest to open up.
I am old customer of the Sunset location of the CAT N’ FIDDLE. I knew her dad casually as a customer, great to see the torch has been passed on the bass. Thanks!
Geddy Lee, Victor Wooten and Klaus Voorman but you know who doesnt g
et enough chatting up but deserves it… Tony Franklin (BEAST)
Bad hair day or not, Warren, I dig the bonnet! ☺️
Can't wait to watch this!! Just saw her with Mars Volta! She was fantastic!
Great story, Eva sounds right down to earth, genuine and humble. Lovely interview. Thanks very much
Great interview, I wish in a different life I was a professional player. I visited LA in 1990 aged 22, I didn't like it even though I had a friend working in a reputable recording studio. I decided not to stay it felt too superficial, no regrets.
I’m not certain if it was your way of getting Eva to talk, but not appearing to know who her father was, AND the fact that he passed away many years ago, looks like very poor interview prep. Honestly Warren, you’re better than this and for me, I had to turn off as you looked like a Wally.
Perbincangan yang berbobot..🤟
I've seen Eva live with P!nk and yes, they are a phenomenal band. Her dad Kim Gardner was in some great bands too. The Creation are legendary. Their guitarist Eddie Phillips played with a violin bow before Jimmy Page did. Check out 'How Does it Feel to Feel', 'Painter Man' and 'Making Time' by The Creation, you won't be disappointed.
Great interview. Dig the hat too!
Super view) thank you Eva)
😊
I just bought a 2001 Mexican P-Bass of Craigslist 2 weeks ago for my studio. So cool she uses it as her main bass
great interview! thank you!
Whoever walked in had no clue he interupted an interview? wow how inconsiderate regardles of who it is.
As an average Glenn Fricker enjoyer, I'm kinda prejudiced over the PLAP bassists actually 😂😂😂
Excellent. She's so great. Many years ago, while at M.I., in 1984 I frequented the orig Cat and Fiddle (legendary) and met her Daddy who was very nice to me…Jeff Beck quietly drinking in the back, soon to be famous people everywhere. Right on, Eva.
I still have my early 90s pbass…bought it new..still play it..its great.. i changed my pickguard to the tortoise shell also. Lol
She Is so talented and cool, also my crush for many many years! ❤
The 100 club?
Great interview. Thank you, Eva and Warren.
After seeing him on your channel, Tony Franklin! Eva rocks as well. I like various bass players for various reasons. Flea is awesome in the chili peppers, that band brings out the best of him. I like Duff from GnR, he done some pretty cool lines and had a tone that really fit with the band that was just wow! Steve Harris…who plays like he is galloping on a horse! He is a legend. On the other end of the spectrum…Mr Wooten…which every bassist likely knows. He is an acrobat. Tina Weymouth…that TONE…!!! Yeah! The reason ya wanna pick up any flatwound bass and drive it. Anyway…I could go on! As ever Warren…thank you and congrats on the new studio you just spoke about getting!
Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix and James Jamerson. Put them together and it's the The Kings James Bible!
She’s wonderful! I know it doesn’t make sense at all, but she reminds me of myself and I don’t see myself as being wonderful, but I guess that’s one of the many things why it doesn’t make any sense when I say she reminds me of myself. But she does. 😊
Great work 👍I heard "Invalid Litter Dept." by At the Drive-In (precursor band to The Mars Volta) on triple j radio in Sydney, loved it and tried to buy the CD single at a local music store but didn't know the song title or the artist so I attempted to sing "🎵dancing on the corpses ashes🎶" to a rather non-plussed Soundz employee who had no idea what I was on about 🙂🙄
Such a wonderful interview and discussion. Eva Gardner is down to earth, and so deep into music. This was very rich, and led me to some delightful new musical discoveries. 🌷💛 Thank you Warren and Eva!
She’s 🔥
I enjoyed that. I’ve always enjoyed Eva’s playing and she seems like a really cool person too..
I wish when speaking of Mars Volta someone would give a shout-out to Juan Alderete.I know I'm praying for his recovery.
I love her! What a pro🙂
Possibly a good idea to do a touch more research on your guests. That moment when talking about her father and if he still hangs with his mates…….to then have her say he died 20 years ago! 😂😂😂😂😂 Massive foot in mouth moment!
She’s cute
Thanks for interviewing the lovely Eva, who I started following on Bandcamp.
Flea, Entwistle, Geddy Lee, Les Claypool, Davie504, Charles Berthoud, Joseph "Lucky" Scott, Thundercat.
This was cool! I would have loved to hear more about the songwriting and production process for the early Mars Volta stuff. Thank you!
Holding a bass guitar in her lap 40 minutes, whole interview, and not playing one note… ?
