  1. KOC won 13 games his first year with aging veterans and a bottom 5 defense, was in the playoff hunt last year with 4 different QBs playing and is going to win 12-14 games this year with a “journeyman bust”. If we all don’t think he’s confident in winning with his hand picked top 10 QB, top 5 cap space and an already top 5 defense. Don’t get back to kicking the can down the road. All we can do is trust KOC he knows 1000 times more than anyone on this app on what’s best for this team.

  2. KAM and KOC have one season left on their contracts. KAM's drafting has been horrible to date. His dealing on draft day has hurt more than helped. With that history was JJ Mac the right choice?Dallas Turner? This combo hasn't won a playoff game yet. We've made some very good FA signings but you also need to look at all of them. They need to look at this season and next as a win it all or we are done. If they can't get us there in a 4 year window then IMO it won't happen so move on.

  3. taking the whole scenario in to account for 2025 they have very little draft picks available to use… signing Darnold will not interrupt the plan to a great extent if they want too… by the way the Vikings will be 15-2 and the number 1 seed

  4. What has changed from training camp to make this team a contender? The impression I received from the training camp reports, here and from Judd @ PD, was this is an up and down team, with some good players and they'll be competitive, but they weren't SB ready. What was missed in training camp that is showing up now?

  5. Teams take chances and big gambles just to try to find a great Center. They did it with JJ draft move. But now fans and analysts are realizing that they found it in Sam.. so you keep him a few years or let him have success somewhere else in the league and gamble on onknow j.j. success in the big guys league…

  6. I think the Bottom Line with the Vikings and Sam Darnold depends on how the Vikings do in the coming Playoffs. If the Vikings win some games in the Playoffs, the inclination to re-sign Darnold will be strong. And of course if the Viking get to or WIN the Super Bowl, re-signing Darnold is a lock.

  7. The perfect NFL QB situation:
    1. Top 5 starter under age 30.
    2. Reliable veteran backup.
    3. Developing 1st Round kid.
I think we actually have checked all the boxes. This might have been too much to hope for, but here we are. He fell in our lap!
This might be why Kwesi likes to sign former first round picks that have underachieved or been cast aside.
Sometimes those 'can't miss' guys bust because their circumstances didn't facilitate development and success. Some can be rejuvenated. Some could go from bagging groceries to winning the Lombardi. Sam could, the way he's been playing.
We paid him $10 million for a bridge year but it turns out that Sam is what we were all hoping McCarthy would become.
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Sign a multi-year deal. He has all of the things Cousins had and more. Plus, he's younger.
Amongst all those oysters Kwesi found an exquisite pearl. He would be insane to toss it back into the ocean.

  8. The Vikings are not going to keep Sam Darnold. Gawd. All these Vikings podcasters are like that boyfriend who has recently been dumped by his girlfriend, who is now living with her new fiance and pregnant…yet the boyfriend is in total denial and keeps telling friends and family that he and the ex-girlfriend are "just taking a break."

Here's how it goes, and this is according to several informed sources, including Rich Eisen, who picked the brains of team management during the London trip: KOC and Kwesi said to Sammy: "Come to Minnesota, brother, and give us your best, use us to re-establish yourself. In echange, we'll get you back on track and help you maximize your market value. When the season's done, you go cash in and we'll hand the wheel to JJ. We have a plan for 2025 and beyond, but we can both help each other this season."

There's NO WAY the Vikings spend Kirko Cash on Darnold and deprive their improving D and O-line of much-needed assets. It just won't happen. Sam Darnold is as good as gone already…even if he wins a Super Bowl.

I think more Vikings podcasters need some rudimentary business finance courses. This is getting absurd. I mean, the reason the Vikings are so good this year is because they DON'T have a $45M per season QB. And I know if it were me, I'd much rather be wrong about a $2.5M per season QB than a $45M per season QB.

Darnold's gone. Get some better content for us.

  9. We let Kirko leave and drafted a QB because of the money. A rookie deal QB is 5 years. Paying a veteran QB at 40-50 million shackles the team. We signed Gilmore, Bernard and VanGinkle for what Houston gave Hunter. 3 great players for 1. Keep in mind all of the free agents we signed last year were 1 year deals. We have to resign all those guys.

  10. I think the biggest thing is JJ being injured an not having the development year he was suppose to. He needs that real development year physically. Find a way to bring darnold back. How that works I'm not sure.

  11. I’m not sure what the right answer is here. There are excellent pros and cons to each argument.
The one thing I look at is that Darnold is tough and durable! Rarely injured.
McCarthy is injury prone. Lost time in college and got a knee injury on a play where he wasn’t even hit.

  12. I hope Darnold knows that this team is where he is thriving as much as Vikings know that they have their quarterback. It is a nice problem to have. Continue to develop McCarthy, but commit to Darnold.
