Hey guys this is the next installment of our Operation Burning Sands campaign, where we bring the fictional nations and factions of the old Strike Fighters series of flight simulators to life within @EagleDynamicsTV ‘s DCS World!

In this mission the 6th Royal Armored Division of the Royal Dhimar Army is back on the offensive to retake portions of the Palmyra Oil Fields and set up for the eventual recapture of the city of Palmyra and its associated Airfield!

This mission was absolutely record breaking for us with nearly 1200 ground units and 50 players engaged in a massive ground battle in and around the main highway between the Sharqiyah Mine complex and Palmyra on the DCS Syria Map.

This mission and the massive number of units would have never been possible without the power servers over at Fox 3 Managed Solutions. This huge mission size could have only been dreamed about a few years ago and really shows off some of the awesome improvements to DCS Multiplayer made under the hood by Eagle Dynamics.

  1. Holy cow guys, I cannot believe that a mission with 1200 separate AI units combined with 50 human players is even possible in DCS now! I believe it really speaks to the awesome servers from Fox 3 Managed Solutions and all the improvements made to DCS Multiplayer by Eagle Dynamics under the hood, a few years ago I would have told you this was impossible!

  2. OMG, spuds gunner NEEDS to pull the mic away from his darn mouth or spit out the gum, preferably both. I love watching these videos. I'm sorry for speaking out, and I'm only saying and hoping this is seen by Spuds gunner. Constructive criticism only, man, but its literally stomach-churning to hear anyone chewing into a mic that's sitting way too close to your mouth, and then to top it off, engaging the afterburners on your smeller of yours with no warning is gonna blow a fucking speaker of mine bro, not to mention, the literal shit I am cleaning up from my dog from scarring it literally right outta him. only time ever my dog was hugged and was told its okay bro, I too need to go change my sorts after this bud.

  3. Thanks for the video. I've done many tests with 2.7 regarding unit count. This really wasn't possible without severely affecting frame rates for users. Sometimes a 50% or more impact. I am still skeptical that 2.8 raised the bar so much that you could have that many units on the map without effect. Would you consider at any point showing what effect, by benchmark, your mission would have with different unit counts?

  4. Col Spud,
Are there any handheld surface to air missile that you can add to your scenario?
That would really add some reality to your operations. Seems everyone these days has their hands on stingers, etc.
