  1. In addition, for EPCOT's 40th The American Adventure will be introducing a Hatfield's vs McCoy's style show where two park families beat the tarnation out of each other over Lightning Lane access to Frozen Ever After and a defective Figment Popcorn Bucket. Grover Cleveland dressed like Rocky Balboa presides over the festivities. The audience votes on the winner. The losing family gets pins that read: "If you can't beat 'em, well, we didn't."

  2. Thank you for honoring the 40th anniversary of EPCOT I'm looking forward to details of what you're going to do in the park because I'll be there. I'm 5.5 months older than Epcot and my mom took me opening day so Epcot and I have a bond and I will be there at rope drop. I haven't missed an anniversary since opening. I can't wait. Just really really mad we didn't get any information at D23 about the 40th

  3. I'm not one to criticize WDW NT never have, but 5 minutes before the news starts? 8 minutes of promoting/ads etc, only 5 minutes of actual news. I get you have to promote yourselves sure, but that seems a bit excessive. Anyways thanks for all the work on getting up to date news daily.

  4. "But Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah is a racist song, because a slave sings about how happy he is!"
Uh, even if we're split on A) it's Reconstruction, and Uncle Remus wasn't a slave, there's still
    B) he's not singing about how happy HE is, he's singing about how nice a day it was for Br'er Rabbit.
"But it's still HAPPY, that's outdated and evil! 😠"

  5. I turned 40 a couple weeks ago, and for years I'd wanted to spend it at Epcot (since one of my first baby pictures is in front of Spaceship Earth), but after watching what Disney's done over the last few years, I'm glad I didn't spend the money.

  6. It hurts my heart that WDW leadership elected to not make a BIG deal out of Epcot’s anniversary 😞 but my favorite park has always been treated as the unwanted stepchild for some reason

Most annoying though is the lack of an actual announcement or plans has prevented planning for those of us that live more than a few hours away and were thinking about trying to be there for the festivities. Sigh.

Dino diner was seasonal anyway if I remember correctly, it might come back seeing as they’re not going to break ground on any Dinoland changes in the near future 😅Although…they frankly need to be more / very concerned with moving that ugly and overly large “seating area” where Prime Hurl used to sit 🙄

  7. Yes, Tom, you have to stop with the zombie mugs. 🙃But please don't stop promoting yourselves or celebrating anything Disney even if Disney itself doesn't. I for one love Epcot. It's still my fav park. **Epcot of old… So, for me not to be there don't sit well with me. Yes, I plan to be there, even if on the cheap LOL!! I appreciate all the news and updates. And I can't wait to see you all again for the 40th. 😀

  8. I liked "Illuminations" a lot more than any of the fireworks shows at Magic Kingdom. My wife and I were always leaving the park before the fireworks to beat the crowd. But we never missed Illuminations at Epcot. We staked out a seat at the Mexican restaurant that's right next to the water (I can't remember the name, maybe La Cantina?). We get tacos and margaritas and watch the show. I'm not sure I've even seen the new show (I can't remember the name). But those platforms sitting out in the middle of the lake piss me off so much it has prejudiced me against the show.

  9. WDW News, I have to say we need to award Disney a Golden+ Key for their Baby sitting service. The wife and I will now be able to take the kids to the Magic Kingdom and let them run wild. While we go over to the "Skippers Canteen"and spend the day getting drunk. At the end of the day we might be able to start a fight on the ferry back to the carpark before going home. Walt would not have been amused. Is this the thin end of the wedge? Cheers, Chris Perry.

  10. I haven’t seen song of the south but I think it’s worse to hide history, the last James baskett was seen on film and he didn’t see the movie as harmful. Even became the first African American man to receive a oscar for his portrayal.

  11. Disney should give back the Academy Award it accepted for Zp a Dee Doo Dah since it no longer recognizes the song. (I found it on 23 different recordings among my collection of Disney music. They aren’t gettin them back.)

  12. tokyo disney and the oriental land company obviously don't own the rights to any disney music. to say that they stopped playing a song might be inaccurate. it's probably more accurate to say disney is no longer licensing the right for them to play a certain song or providing them the soundtrack with that song

  13. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the song Zip a Dee Doo Dah. There is a group at Disney that is so afraid of the past that they want to destroy it and pretend like it never existed. What sad lives those people lead.

  14. Honestly at this point WDW reps should be offering contacts and support for these events you host. You are doing more than they ever would- I feel like your Epcot 40th celebration is more of an actual celebration than anything they did for the park’s 50th even!
