Ep15 Burning a hole in Space : Oxygen not included

Well that was a very productive use of our research time. We now have 4 solar panels safely tucked into the bottom of our base. Ok maybe not super productive but it was a learning experience.

  2. Anyone else's video not scaled correctly? For me I couldnt see anything on the far left side it's like the whole thing was shifted to the left, I had a black bar on the right side.

  3. Could you build a rocket platform inside a rocket ship? And keep doing that over and over until you cram like 10 rockets each within their own rocket? Because that sounds very interesting and seems like a very casual thing to do. It would be like a nesting doll except it would actually be a nesting rocket.

  4. Apologies for the different topic, but I had a question about petroleum boilers. I have a 3 row counterflow boiler (mostly aluminum with some gold piping) that seems to be doing a great job heating the oil up. However, I'm finding that the petroleum coming out is slowly getting hotter and hotter. I wanted to store some before sending it off to boilers for upcoming rockets, but how hot does the petroleum tend to get once it has stabilized (like, 30 cycles out or so)? Would a liquid tank need to be steel or can I squeak by with gold? After about 5 cycles mine got up to about 115 C on the way out and I am getting very nervous! Any tips would be appreciated. I'm mostly just stoked the counterflow was working properly this time around.

  5. I want you to travel in style, in a organic hippy base where they grow their own food, full recycling of their waste, bonus points if you use the wall toilet, but still recycle it. More bonus points if you put in a park or nature reserve.

  6. Yes please, you always cram in the most into that small space, please do an insanely casual extravagant mobile base.
You could call it the Tardis, you know, because it's bigger on the inside 😀

  7. Francis, I thought you were insane by the 30 minute mark, and the next 15 minutes didn't change my mind. Regarding the carbon skimmer, I like to hook them up to two or more gas sensors which activate the skimmer when they are submerged in carbon dioxide. Above that, you can even have some more gas sensors set to an alarm in case something really has gone horribly wrong.

  9. Is anyone else experiencing off-center video with this episode? I've got a black bar running down the left side and want to know if its a local issue from the recent update.

  10. curious if you could keep both lines of steel active at the same time (one inside and one through the wall) with the flow control halved. If half the steel flow was being radiated while half wasn't, the average would maybe require less micromanagement

  11. On May 26, ghkbrew made a post on the Klei forums with a design that has a radbolt engine rocket capture its exhaust to both refuel the rocket and generate power (and as an added bonus move around enough heat to melt the rocket walls. It seems like the kind of concept that would be right up your alley.
