Ep 3: The Rumor Lill | The Mindful Adventures of Unicorn Island | Shows for Kids Managing Emotions

Lilly accidentally starts a rumor about her BFF Madhav when she doesn’t pay attention to what he’s telling her. On Unicorn Island, the islanders can’t find Pep because they were distracted when she told them where she was going. The islanders use Dora’s assistance to practice active listening and “HEAR” their friends.

The Mindful Adventures of Unicorn Island follows Lilly, voiced by Lilly Singh, to the imaginary Unicorn Island where she learns how to deal with real-life problems in fantastical ways. With the help of her imaginary friends, Lilly learns how mindfulness can help her overcome her troubles and takes her mindfulness and mental health skills back to the “Real World.”

The animated series The Mindful Adventures of Unicorn Island teaches mindfulness skills to help kids learn how to regulate their emotions in day-to-day life. Children will learn mindfulness tools and mental health principles, like meditation and breathing exercises for children, to help navigate stressful situations for kids in these short 10-minute animated episodes.

Starring Lilly Singh, Kal Penn, Padma Lakshmi, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Dora Kamau.

  1. @LillySingh .. Your series is absolutely wonderful.. especially for younger kids .. well done and congratulations!!
I am a teacher in one of the GCC and after watching the first two episodes I thought that I will show this series to my students too, but as the third episode mentions "rainbow" and unfortunately, it's a big deal with the "rainbow" related activities here. I am even afraid of writing the correct terminology here, as the people here track social media for such topics! Students and schools are shunned for showing photo of students using the 7 rainbow colours together.. as they relate it to the community and assume that the school might be supporting it..

But I will continue watching this series, as it is cute, funny and knowledgeable.. proud of you, Lilly and thank you! ❤️

My baby sister is 11 and she told me she still uses the mindful exercises we both learned from headspace years ago. Shown here in ep2! This project is already a success. Also, how cute is everything ?!
