In rural Australia, environmental officer Glenn Turner dedicated his life to protecting native habitats, including the homes of endangered koalas. While investigating illegal land clearing, Glenn tragically lost his life in a violent confrontation with a landowner determined to defend his practices.
This incident unveiled the deep tensions between environmental preservation and agricultural expansion, highlighting systemic challenges and the human cost of such conflicts.
As Glenn’s family seeks justice and koalas face extinction threats, this story becomes a stark reminder of the delicate balance between nature and human ambition.
It’s a call to action for sustainable coexistence and justice.

Without trees there will be less oxygen, and ultimately less life. Basic science.
Greed will infect your soul !
Australia: Lucky and Dumb
A tiny island nation like Singapore puts us to shame
Come on, Australia.
Get your bloody act together 😠.
A lot of people look to you, I’m shocked at the vulgarity and selfishness of this family and broader farming community.
Not a good look for you on the Ecological world stage, I’m afraid.
They are so vulnerable..and dependant…
Who was paying Turnball?
Why doesn't the government purchase the lands and set them aside as Koala sanctuaries. Permanently protected government land. You can make then tourist spots to gain a little money to support the efforts. And invite people to plant trees on the land as part of the adventure of helping the forest grow.
He bought koala habitat! WHO THE HELL SOLD KOALA LAND TO A FRIKEN FARMER??? Every person involved in this transaction goes to prison along with the murderer!
Horrific Greed!!
His feelings do not count… the hapless know it all murdered a man in cold blooded murder because he was a loose cannon a person you don’t ever cross the word NO doesn’t apply in his mind … he really believes he did nothing wrong! Wow. A human being.
How many others that are missing have these types murdered?!!!
😢
You are saving them!!!✅❤️ God Bless You!
Australia second in the world to biodiversity loss !!!
Horrific Consequences are looming.
What more proof does it take when a whole diverse eco-system disappears & every things been bulldozed? This farmer is surely not right in the head & thinks he's living in the 19th century. The whole area has been photographed from the air & land. How many bush fires have been started this way? Surely the land must be rewilded at the farmers expense before he's evicted for good. Farmers like to portray themselves as guardians of the land, not this 1, he's all selfish profit. Glenn Turner RIP An Australian to his heart. UK
When your being paid to put people out of work or interfere with muilti-generational family farms you better keep your head up.
Murder is an awful thing.
This is a horrible story. I’m so sorry for this loss and prayers for his friends and family.
I’m literally in tears for the sustainable farmers and the work theyre doing to save the koala .God bless you ,never give up🩷🌸🙏🏼
Ecologists that don’t respect property rights (and sometimes aggressively) take a risk….
Dozens in Brazil die trying to defend their environment
Damn shame , I blame the government for a land taking . Years ago I thought it would be nice to visit Australia, no way , screw Australia and their crazy lib people, they have no clue !
you can only push people so far ! its ok if you want to save the world do it in your lane ! but don't come on some ones property and tell them what to do with it ! so you push a point and you had to pay a price for it !
It's never ever ok to take a person's life. I do remember as a young man growing up in the state of Idaho in America. The green movement was just taking off. about the 1970s. Our federal government was beginning to crack down on private property usage. Dam's being removed, Tree cutting to save the spotted owl and many other situations. This was the beginning of the end for the Democratic party in Idaho. Today Idaho is 100% Republican party representation. Greens destroyed thousands of families working on farms, logging, mining, hunting grazing ect and a lose of life style and making a living to feed themselves and there children. Whole region's where destroyed. Almost every aspect of there communities became undersege as they saw it. No violence but great anger was everywhere. But we voted all those involved out of office soon after. Today Idaho is 80% Trumpland. That's the only answer, not violence or intimidation. Voting is the only way forward.
It's the big city woke University educated vs the poor & working classes all over the world. Trump types are taking advantage of division between the rich & poor. Who will win?
What a shame..
Human greed knows no bounds!
If the government was to own the land and lease it out to farmers for 25 years renewable on good conduct it probably won't be so emotive to insist on good range management.
Arable farming to feed vegans, A tragic loss of a life
Inbreeding causes people to do things like this.
The Turnbells inbreeding is very dangerous.
The turnbells sure are idiots. Talking on the jail phone
The country was founded through genocide
I am so glad that family could not be with the murderer when he died.
