I’ve compiled a reading list of my favourite history books via the Amazon influencer program. If you do choose to purchase any of these incredible sources of information then Amazon will send me a tiny fraction of the earnings (as long as you do it through the link) (this means more and better content in the future) I’ll keep adding to and updating the list as time goes on:-

Hi guys hope you like this one. Very pleased to finally have it released. Took a ridiculous amount of time and energy to make. Contrary to popular opinion I never took a break. I’ve been constantly working on this. Now on to the next one! Please like, subscribe and comment it you enjoyed this it really does make all the difference in making it worthwhile by helping YouTube to promote it. Thanks all now onto the next one!!
So my question is, was there a Sakbe going to Nakbe?
This is award winning content broski
I love this channel but start your listen at 29:32. You’ll thank me later. If you want to listen about the actual Mayans and not the history of the Spanish conquest/western explorers, go to 1:48:26.
As a history buff I counted the americas as my least known about, but videos like this are changing that fact. Thank you!
One of the best docs I have seen…, wow, thank you.
💞🙏🏻💚
Thx for a very enjoyable documentary
Interesting
And yet people wanna call the USA an Empire
well done, very informative.
"Mass conversions to Christianity…" HA! 🤣 Christianity had all but died out in those days. The mass conversions were not to Christ and His kingdom but to the Roman religion that masquerades as Christianity. Nobody was ever "converted" to Christianity at the point of a gun. 😄
Absolutely brilliant. What an amazing subject to research and also to highlight the amazing Mayan people who have flourished in that land for long. Thanks Pete keep up the good work!!
i accidentally found the North American Mayan Home Temple of 7 Caves in A Cavern .
It is located in Joshua Tree National Park , My Heart is failing , i wish to pass on this information to you without subjecting the site to loss of preservation. I have mentioned it to many in my life , tucked away in A Hidden Valley , hopefully if you receive this and i am passed over , you oh young Hemingway can clue up the location at least to 5 acres perhaps with LIDAR’s Assist so this is not lost like a horse in a gold mine
2:28:06 and 2:31:40 – – – They were called the "star wars" because the Mayan leaders of the moment were taking decisions about when to start a war, depending of phases of Venus, or other unusual appearance of Venus. As you know, Venus looks like a bright star.
The Venusian year is only 224 days, and the Mayan astronomers knew that.
Real Mayan History, told by an actual Mayan descendant https://youtu.be/-l0KZ6zmXpQ
You are the best content creature on YouTube!!!
Just to be clear, is not "Palacio", is García de Palacio; Spanish as well as most of Latin American people carry last names of both parents and the first is from the father's side; If someones last names are García Rodríguez, should no be called Rodríguez, only, but García Rodríguez.
Mayans are from the liost tribes of Israel.
The title of your video is "Entire History of the Mayans", but all you really talk about is the Spaniards, and the events after. Ancient Mayan history was lost, thanks to the self-titled "conquistadores", who destroyed the entire library of Mayan knowledge, except for the piece called the Mayan Codex, now in the Prado, in Madrid. The Mayans were very savvy people, creating the Mayan Calendar (likely the original Maya, who built the pyramids, not the natives of today, inbred from dozens of other tribes, Spaniards, and who-knows-who, to predict the ferocity of the returns of the "visitor" of Exodus.
When one interpolated the Haab and the Tzolkin parts of the Mayan Calendar, to arrive at the Long Count, the device correctly, and accurately predicted the returns of the "visitor" of Exodus, alerting the population to the severity of the "contact", a time when volcanoes erupted without cease, the earth opened up and poured out molten rock by the mile, seas rose to dwarf landforms, the wind blew at gale-force, with lightning beating a steady rhythm against the earth below, and earthquakes multiplied exponentially. A time when whole swaths of area were dropped "below the waves", or pushed out of them. When mountain ranges rose in violent protest, and it seemed the whole world was on fire. Species were wiped out, by polar dislocations, seas were emptied, and filled, and everything man made, except the pyramids, were overwashed by tsunamis that raced around the globe, then turned and raced back, because the planet was locked in a battle with an adversary nearly the same size, on an errant course that affected Earth's path.
The Mayans, and the Incas, may have been remnants of the inhabitants of fabled Atlantis, when that body sat due west of the Straits of Gibraltar, maybe a few hundred miles the Iberian coast, off the northwest coast of Africa. In fact, rocks in the mountains in northwest Scotland, 1,800 miles north-northwest across the Iberian Peninsula, and the Appalachians, 3,800 miles west-northwest in the US, were created at the same time as the rocks of the Atlas Mountains, in Morocco. I'm not a believer in when a rock solidified being an indicator of when it was raised 5 miles or more above the strata where they were created, so I hesitate to say those three mountain ranges were lifted at the same time, then broken apart. That would take even more energy than it did to move them to their present locations.
Short of someone inventing a time machine (functionally and factually impossible), we'll never know the "whole story" of the Mayans, but I suspect, if we did, it would be more fantastic than we are prepared to believe. It might rival the story of the ancient Hindis, whose "sub-continent" schlepped across 2,-4,000 miles of Indian Ocean to SLAM into southern Asia. The Mayans' and the Hindis' journeys may have happened at the same time, historically, if not momentarily, when Joshua "commanded the Sun to stand still in the sky", an event that, if indeed it happened, would have happened circa 1344BC. The remaining five polar dislocations would have caused the climate of "Central America" to change, to its current rain forest conditions, causing the original Mayans (the eggheads) to migrate to greener, if dryer, pastures, well before the 800AD date most scholars attribute to the decline of the culture. Some may have traveled south, into South America, some north, into the modern US, some from Cuba (also part of their empire, long ago), into Florida, to become ancestors of the Seminole, Colusa, and Miccosukee. We don't know, because "conquistadores", and all that concept represents.
Video editing, audio, interesting AND educational, all just amazing. So glad I found your channel!
Great. Just what the world needs. Yet another Euro centric, thinly veiled white supremacist.
Knew I shouldn't of started watching this in bed,its 04.30 in the morning but the brilliant way this has been done is fantastic 👏 so gripping and I always learn new things to research, keep up this great work buddy
Amending my earlier comment, written about 2 hours in, I realize you do speak of ancient Mayans. My complaint is a quibble over how much attention the Spanish "Conquistadores" do not deserve anything more than a quick boot, and a hearty raspberry for being the slugs they were, but then, that is history. It brings out the worst in humans. By the time the Spanish arrived, the Mayans were like the Egyptians Julius Caesar and Marc Antony met, 1,600 years earlier, mere shadows of their forebears, living on the last fumes of former greatness.
Couple questions:
Where did they get all the rock? That many buildings, with that much rock, there must have been quarries EVERYWHERE. All of it shaped stone, like in Egypt, suggesting a pile of chips as big as the Great Pyramid? Without iron tools.
What did you think of that very Roman crested helmet, at 4.11.36, in the mural on a wall in the room Morley first saw?
Can I see your chronology? It may well help with my own, in ways I can only guess at.
"Contact with Meso-American people" might not have been the case, IF the chunk of crust Yucatan, a recent attachment to the North American continent, shared with Texas across to Florida with Texas-Florida, Cuba and Hispaniola, the Bahamas, like India was a recent attachment to Asia, and very likely at the same time. Mayans, especially the ancient ones, seem more Egyptian than pan-"Asian" Native Americans of today. Their compulsion to build grand stone buildings does make one want to re-examine the time line of pyramid-building. There had to have been thousands of workers. Or, gravity was much, much lower. I dunno.
I watched to the end, learned a lot more than I thought I knew. Thanks for putting in the effort. I would like to talk sometime, so if you're ever bored, hit me up. Good job.
Your voice is hypnotic
“…Altars covered with streams of dried human blood, the stench of which was awful… huge pits, forty to fifty feet deep, were found with human bodies, dead and dying, and a few wretched captives were rescured alive… everywhere sacrificial trees on which the corpses of the latest victims—everywhere, on each path, were newly sacrificed corpses. On the principal sacrificial tree, facing the main gate of the King’s compound, there were two crucified bodies…”
Hundreds of people were tortured to death regularly in Benin’s juju rituals. These blood-stained orgies went on for centuries, and were only halted in 1987 when the British captured the city. One man who entered the city in the British expedition gave this description:
"All of Southern Nigeria was a land of oppression, terror and fiendish cruelty, of slaves raids, slavery, juju, human sacrifice and cannibalism. But Benin surpassed them all as a City of Blood."
On both sides of the Atlantic, the blood-soaked murder machines were switched off by brave Christians who witnessed hell on earth. We owe them so much.
Stupendous
There is a common theme in western archaeology , kings and religion. Maybe they had different religions and methods of government. Maybe it was a democracy, but not western style. Todays native north and south Americans did not have such complex governance systems. In the west even at the village level there is a type of lord ,duke which is hereditary. In short I think your interpretation has certain assumptions and could be flawed. 🤔
This isn't really my kind of subject matter, but clearly it deserves an upvote if at least for the amount of work put into this doc.
please stop with the music noise. its annoying af when trying to listen to you.
This is great! By human hand alone? Methinks not.
Perfect upload timing. I just came back from a trip to the Mayan lands while this was airing.
HAPPY INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’S DAY!
