This stubborn and feisty young seal was not very thrilled about being caught in a rescue net. Maybe he was upset over the choice of using the smaller baby rescue net instead of the bigger one? Thankfully, the entanglement itself turned out to be easy to remove with just a quick snip and the rescue team could let him get back to the ocean right away.

  14. NICE SEAL SAVE! 0:51 That was a weird shot. On the sandy beaches they are usually all running toward the water. Maybe the seals are getting use to them like at the other place with the rocky beach area with the wooden walkway!

  17. That was a fast rescue. Glad that you publish a monthly newsletter, too, that people can subscribe to. You do so many more things than the rescues. Very impressive how you engage with the government, fishing industry, schools, local community, waste collection, and you are learning how to rehabilitate endangered penguins.

  22. Well done for all you do heroes 👏👏👏 Just a thought. You're so inventive with your rescue equipment, could you not make a seal shaped muzzle to use temporarily and save yourself from the risk of being bitten. Also to make the rescue quicker. I can picture it in my mind just covering the snout and eyes but leaving room to cut lines etc., underneath straps.
