Engine Failure!! Parlay to the Rescue Again!!

When it rains it pours and it rains plenty in Costa Rica this time of the year, so I guess so goes our luck..
The hits just keep coming and we just have to keep going. Big thanks to Colin for his help to remedy a major headache with our port motor. Also for filming it and sharing the footage as filming was the last thing on our minds after a nightmare week…
Just a caveat to the video and important to mention that Heinz did not do this electrical installation on this boat. It was done by a previously employed electrician and this was no fault of his. That electrician no longer works at Nexus Yachts..

  1. just wanted to thank you Trevor for doing this. It has been so good travelling the world with you guys from my desk here in Auckland NZ. I've been following since you were doing the boat prep, I added the channel inadvertently and never even realised what you okes were doing. Wow talk about memories.

  2. OH does this bring back memories. patience is the key– can tell if a newbi has it or not by their first shot at the insolvable problem. To trouble shoot low voltage at the panel to a remote fuse connection??????? who would have thunk it.. good job guys.. just doesn't look good fo a paying customer peering over your shoulder .

  3. As soon as I heard the engine start I thought to myself it has to be a VW marine engine… they’re hard to beat as long as the electronics are working properly. Please tell me I’m right on that point.

  5. That engine bay is so clean you could eat off the floor. Like you could take a ham sammich in there , drop half of it on the floor and I would not hesitate to pick it up and eat it. I'd even let it sit for more than 5 sec.

  6. As someone who’s played in this field, always start with wiring, usually earths, and any electrical connections near a water connection. I’m not going to say anything else, I’ve probably already been tagged as a smartarse. Great work! 👏😎🐬⚓️🏖🌴☀️🇦🇺
