End of Our Symphony // DSMP Original Song // November 16th

I’ve been working on this song for over a year now and I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with you guys!! It’s been a long process and many people have helped me with it, namely the singer, Joy, my brother, and my music teacher.

Joy – Melonjoy2
Music teacher – Mark King from the band Hinder
My brother – No links but he played the flute 🙂

The story of L’Manberg has always resonated with me and I hope to do it justice and show the feelings it inspired in me.

Lyrics:
There once was a nation old and true
So powerful, it shone like new
Its cobblestone walls stood proud and tall
But no one knew what it would befall

There once was a nation for you and me
It soared on the wings of destiny
Flying high in skies unseen
But lo, its fall was far from clean

There once was a nation bright and alive
From a dream it had been derived
But then their hopes fell short
And up rose a war like nothing seen before

Our country, the land of the true and free
A home for you and me
A legacy to forever remember
Our beautiful symphony

Fury and fire spread the word
There was not a laugh to be heard
Tears and fears crushed their hearts
Oh, what a loss of a work of art

Lightning and smoke rose from on high
The dreamer spoke one last goodbye
“It was never meant to be,” he said
And when they found him, he was dead.

A home that couldn’t last
An unforgettable past
Everything they fought for gone
They were but measly pawns

Our country, the land of the true and free
A home for you and me
A legacy to forever remember
Our beautiful symphony

The night before disaster, life could be heard
A smile, a laugh, and loving words
No one thought it would fall from grace
There was hardly any time for a last embrace

There once stood a nation bold and free
A nation made by you and me
Our unfinished symphony
Living on in our memories
