Enclave: Shadows of Twilight – 100% Full Game (Light + Dark) [Wii – PAL] [Original Hardware]



Released 2012 for the Nintendo Wii only in the PAL Region, Enclave: Shadows of Twilight was met with critical reception. While Doyodo Entertainment GmbH, under license of Topware Interactive, made efforts to introduce new branding and exciting new features in the Enclave experience such as Wii motion controls and mid-game saves, the system’s hardware caused much of the game’s presentation to fall short. Graphics and textures were worse than the original Xbox release 10 years ago; assets and enemies were removed to allow for the game to compile, and still the Wii always seemed to run out of memory at given points in the game. Enclave’s engine was simply not built with the Wii in mind. That said, this game is still part of Enclave’s history, and I intend on diving into every aspect of it, appreciating all of its deviations, fun points, and shortcomings. Join me in this journey through Enclave: Shadows of Twilight as we complete both campaigns 100%!

Being in the United States, I never heard about this ported release. As you see in the intro, I had to make some investments to get it working properly with original hardware. I am hoping that this playthrough helps to satisfy people in my region for their curiosity of this game. What you see is how the game originally shipped on the Wii, upscaled slightly from my mClassic module. There are audio pops and cracks heard during gameplay, and this is inherent in the game. This is not an issue with my setup; if you watch other videos of this game you will hear them as well. Some mechanics are broken (such as cannons), and as a result one of the bonus levels (Naglagard) is near impossible to beat, taking me more than 2 hours and a near heart attack to get the required 100 kills. After beating the game 100%, you unlock two special characters. Unfortunately these characters are completely broken as their rocket launchers are unable to reliably launch rockets. Most of the game is exactly as you remember it in the XBox and PC release.
