Just limit the number of housing people can buylike toilet paper during the pandemic
I have a question: Where are these people from? What was their plan when they got here? Do they have families? Also, why couldn't clusters of 3 POOL their money to buy a trailer… live in a trailer park… and get a job… clock in, do a task, use the money on food.
Ugh, police have to carry a gun. It's protocol. There was a guy who used a crossbow on a flea market merchant over there
The SROs need to come with house maids otherwise the homeless will not use them.
In my opinion once these people are lucky enough to get a roof over their head…. these people need to be reeducated. That should be part of the deal. If not educated I think they need to be emotional helped. Hopefully not by giving them more drugs. Those people need extra help.
It'll be like starting from grade one. Some of these people officially don't know how to deal with garbage, and not caring about their body in a healthy way. Sure they probably had issues from an early age somewhere along the line somebody failed these people. It's like the buck was passed onto the next person. Instead of dealing with it, and educating people to try and make this world a better place to live. All this has done is created a gigantic problem for everybody. When I hear about violence on a street that used to be a place I loved so much as child, and later as a teenager. I couldn't wait to come on the ferry from Nanaimo to stay with my grandparents. We would go to Stanley Park Ride the train. Go on Granville street and see all the stalls with jewelry and hot dog stands. It was so much fun. It brings tears to my eyes now. What happened.!! It's so sad.
Let be real….it all about mental health. Most of these people have mental health issues and you can’t force anyone to get help.
Imagine if they said that about rich people. We have to remove them, they have a bad influence on poor people.
Skin Lightener Filter….
This will get worse no one can afford rent because of greedy rich
Trudeau help those illegal border crossers more than these homeless canadians.
Could they be sheltered on a retired cruse ship?
Safe? They are shooting up! Nonsense talk just put the addicts in a camp area and non addicts in housing done
Destroying their tents and putting them to shelters wont help the drug addiction there..you need to isolate these drug addicts in an island somewhere in BC where there is no access to any form of drugs for atleast a year, instead of giving them a safe amount of drugs to use..isolate to make them sober.
Very good questions by the interviewer
The homeless situation has been allowed to get out of control, In reality it is a complex situation, But please curb judgemental attacks, While it repulses the senses, You too could end up in a homeless situation overnight.——
Addiction is not just a housing problem … A lot of times , people chose to not to be sheltered ….
As a community healthcare worker in Vancouvers' DTES, I can assure you that the SIN number of my client caseload is a kaleidoscope of every province. For those who might not be familiar with the Canadian Social Insurance Number system (SIN), the first number is different for each province. In British Columbia, where Vancouver is in — the number is 7. But of my client load, there are literally peoples from all provinces in Canada. And they migrate to Vancouver and specificially the DTES because it's the only climate in the country with a livable climate in the winter (although not for long with global warming) and there is a robust community of people who are unhoused here and has been growing ever since the former Vancouver Municiple Government of the 1990s decided to dump a bunch of peoples with severe mental health ailments, disabilities, and disorders from Riverview Mental Health Facility was closed on the premise that the family members would take care of these peoples. And for anyone who was not claimed by their family, they were dumped in the DTES.
Get a job. Why should others be burdened by these low lives ?
Finally, a mayor who cares and wants to clean up the city!
Canada finance war in Ukraine… a contributor a millions of dollars … a shame indeed that homeless people were not provided with basics….
How could he possibly know the answers to some of your questions
You as a commentator ask questions he can’t answer. It’s a 1st world problem. Beyond his ability to control. If it was easy it would probably already have been done
Who saw this coming? Huh
Where can I invest in the tent making factory
