The Campulance is a 2002 Ford E450 Marque Commando 164 Class III ambulance powered by the Ford 7.3l Powerstroke turbo diesel engine and a 4 speed 4R100 transmission. Lefty is a 68lb American Staffordshire Terrier (best I can tell) that came from the Verona Street Animal Shelter (https://www.vsas.org/) in March 2014 at the age of 9 months. I'm seriously shocked by the low numbers of RVs and Vans there. I remember the hay-days and heard that the volume of visitors had dropped significantly but seeing all that Vacant Space was still a shocking visual 😳. Several factors play into the reduced level of Visitors there. Some of those factors are as follows: 1. People don't have a need to "Chase 70° with Diesel-powered heaters and Solar Power Systems w/Panels, etc. You can pretty much go wherever you want nowadays, opposed to chasing weather conditions now. The newly announced, then reversed, restrictions on Class A, Class B and Class C motor powered RVs and Motorcoaches In nearby States put off that crowd of people. Oftentimes you'd go to "Q" and then head out to other nearby states looking for your next rig. Title issues have raised too many "ifs" about that for now. Valley Fever is a big concern since most RVers have at least one dog. We have two Multipoos. Then there's the soon-to-be Rent Hikes and many are out this year looking for alternative areas to try out. Lastly, I personally believe a number of folks simply Tuned Out because of the unwelcoming treatments that they ALLEGEDLY received during the Co-vid 19 years. Some locals and local establishments ALLEGEDLY did NOT take kindly to the normal inflex of "out of town folks who graced their businesses. Many people who were otherwise devoted to the "Q" swore to never return and haven't. Boomers if advanced age soundly declared that they had or could find more comforting and welcoming conditions elsewhere. The ALLEGED Wolf Cries to return fell on deaf ears. We considered going back for a short visit last year, but deep cleaning maintenance for our Class A Newmar Motorcoach AFTERWARDS was too much effort and expense to consider for such a short-term visit there. Fuel Costs for traveling there and back, etc., are all factors to consider and many just no longer see the value added benefits that the "Q" once offered up to people. It's sad to reflect back on it and see how the crowds there have dropped so dramatically. The advanced age of Boomers also plays a role in it too. Boondocking is a ton of work on our older muscles 💪. Sadly it's like the Drive-in Theaters of long ago, times changed and people moved on.

Season is important!!! The south is full of campers now.
I had owned 2 campgrounds in Alaska. I'm down to only 1 small campground now. I built hotel units and cabins on my old RV sites. I'm very worried about the RV and camping industry. 18 states have adopted such onerous regulations based on climate change, and the RV manufacturing industry is unable to build RVs to the ridiculous, severe standards with regard to carbon standards and emissions. Regulations are destroying the whole retirement lifestyle choice of millions of RVers. Yet these lawmakers think nothing of flying around the country, at their convenience, in their Leer jets which produce 100's in magnitudes of carbon emissions vs an elder retired couple in a scenic campground enjoying the freedom this lifestyle offers. RV parks are really struggling as well.

I'm in a wheelchair in Sunnyslope . My neighbor would visit his mom and do the yard and stuff and sleep in his van when here and was off in a truck to somewhere and come back . We watched portals open up over north PHX and a few fireballs and the high fliers at sunset are amazing . So his winter hangout was quartzite. He watches me for years repair and fix free bikes from the dumpster and he went to Oregon for his mechanic training he was so impressed . So he opened a bike shop in quartzite and it rained and flooded and he went to fixing RVs for the big guy up front there . But Cosmo hangs out on channel 19 and you may just hit the switch and he will say hello . Tell him Davey says hi from Sunnyslope . His mother passed a few years back and my forward scout disappeared . So we are occupying some of the strangest land on earth . I'm in the neighborhood where th PHX lights USA News picture was drawn from by Tim Ley .. He saw the boomerang UFO that was front page PHX Lights . So today if you come to Sunnyslope ..Ocotillo Hills like 14 st Cinnabar to 20th on the hill and between Peoria and Hatcher you can drive through and look at the shrink rings on the Saguaro Cactus main tree you will see a shrink ring 27" down . Saguaros grow an inch a year . Those antigrav engines messed up every cactus in the neighborhood . If you go out into the Saguaro forests you don't see shrinky rings . Looks like somebody put a rubber band on it for awhile… We see shadow people portals open flashy light covers the whole valley and a portal opens and sumthin pops in and out . We even had two paragliders with flares on a rope went right over our heads and circled Sunnyslope High School and landed on the football field after dark ! NBC covered the hoax .. Are the PHX lights back … They WILL cover a hoax … Not the real thing .,I'm a newsie and mom was a newsie and I know as mom started the Prescott 1967 UFO landing hoax in 1967 . 5000 of 6000 Prescott residents disappeared after Church that Sunday …Look it up .

Empty. No one camps anymore in Quartzite I guess. A good time to go there. I love desert winter weather but can't stand people in groups.

I've not seem anyone else explain the camping changes in the BLM land in this way. I've yet to make it to quartzite, so this is helpful info. People were ready to go see Bob and to meet other like minded persons with good hearts. Now people go you mght not as easily hook up and and find some strong friendships. Granted there are alot of good people but they arent connecting like before.

When it gets later in the year and it gets too hot there, you are welcome to camp @RidgeValleyRanch in Concho outside of Show Low. Free Wi-Fi, firewood, water, and great views. We also have great cell service.
