YES! THANK YOU. it is an adjective, not a noun. at least, it was back in 2002-2006. Then mainstream media found out about it thanks to MCR and FOB and they started calling PEOPLE "emos". uggh. obnoxious. It's like calling hardcore kids "hardcores".
Feels weird being an older gen z (23) who went through their emo phase back in 2011-2013..I can't look at these younger gen z emo kids without being reminded of how cringe i was lmao.
