Well, after several delays, Emirates has officially taken delivery of its first A350 900 aircraft, ushering in a new chapter for the airline. Originally scheduled to join the fleet in August, the delivery was postponed to October and then late November. On November 25, the aircraft, registered as A6 EXA, arrived at Dubai International Airport, following its departure from Airbus’ final assembly line in Toulouse, France. The aircraft flew through UK airspace before heading to Dubai, reportedly for documentation reasons.
This delivery is part of Emirates’ ambitious plans to modernize and expand its fleet, with 65 A350 on order. Speaking at the delivery ceremony, Emirates President Sir Tim Clark emphasized the longstanding partnership between Emirates and Airbus. The airline has operated a range of Airbus aircraft over the years, including the A 300, A310, A330, A340, and the iconic A380.

“Today, we are the largest operator of the A380, which has become synonymous with the Emirates brand,” Clark remarked. “The A380 revolutionized air travel with its unique features and onboard experiences, benefiting not only Emirates but also Dubai as a global travel hub. Today, with the arrival of the A350 900, we begin another chapter in our story, focused on delivering the next level of passenger experience.”

This sentiment was echoed by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, who described the A350 900 as a “game-changer.” The aircraft’s advanced operating efficiency and flexibility will enable Emirates to serve a wider range of destinations while offering customers its latest cabin products. Features like premium economy seating, cutting-edge in-flight entertainment, and carefully designed cabin environments demonstrate the airline’s dedication to excellence in the sky. Indeed, the new aircraft boasts a three-class cabin layout, offering a total of 312 seats: 32 next-generation lie-flat business class seats, 21 premium economy seats, and 259 spacious economy class seats. Emirates highlighted that the cabin design reflects the airline’s commitment to delivering an unparalleled passenger experience, further enhanced by its extensive retrofit program for its A380 and triple 7 fleets.
