This episode of Shadows House was a perfect finale to an amazing season! We get to meet Anthony in person, Kate becomes the Team Leader, and we see the fate of the Belles. With Emilico also becoming Team Leader by proxy, we see her standing up to Barbie which I think will be a common occurrence next season! The ending is a lot more of a cliffhanger than most people expected, or than it really had to be. There was definitely a pretty dramatic moment it could have ended on that it just sort of breezed past in order to move onto Belle. I hope that's a sign they're planning a third season, but since I'm a pessimist, I am aware there are other possible explanations. They could be over-correcting from S1 failing to set up the manga's continuity into the events of S2, which kind of kneecapped some of S2's stakes. Because S1 had 13 episodes and this one had only 12, I also wonder if maybe they had planned for 13 this time around and had to cut one for whatever reason, because the next episode would kind of have resolved what Belle's situation is at least for the immediate future. For such a short mini-arc, it's pretty weird to start it, go halfway through, and then immediately end the season. Hopefully neither is the case and there'll be another season picking it all up again next year, even though the buzz online was definitely less than the first season's. There's a lot of very interesting stuff for one, though it would have less of a clear central "thing" to be about like S1 was all about the debut and S2 was all about Robe-sama. If there isn't, I hope someday down the road you check out the manga.
It's also weird that the anime didn't show exactly what happened to Belle, as that was depicted in the manga immediately after Anthony showed up and was a very impactful scene. I dunno if they want to save that for a flashback at a later date or just thought it was too cruel to broadcast as part of what would otherwise be a hopeful conclusion to the show, but it felt very odd jumping straight to one of the Belles just not being around without seeing anything actually happen to one of them. We also skipped past earlier a scene that would have shown that the diving helmet thing we saw when we first met the Research Team was actually a soot helmet that Ollie and Oliver invented after the first time the Belles got sick to protect them, which is a shame as it further cements them as Best Boys.
A lot of people are suspicious of Anthony because of this scene, but honestly, I think he's going to turn out to have been telling the truth – keeping information secret, certainly, but not outright lying. Thematically, I think Somato are going to want to use him to show us "look at what lengths a human has to go to to stand against the Shadows House". My prediction is that Christopher did kill himself to save Anthony, and the twist is that Anthony was against that – he thought that Christopher should have unified with him because that would give him the power to oppose the House, even if it meant Anthony himself would die.
The translation for how Rosemary and Maryrose might have survived is a little off. Japanese often omits the subject and you have to simply imply it from the context – when Anthony says "You used your powers", the Japanese is just "powers were used". Crunchyroll assumed that was Kate's powers, but what the anime shows is Maryrose using a Phantom to land on. Kate provided the soot, presumably colluding with them offscreen before she turned them in to convince them to change their plans enough to escape instead of dying, but Maryrose was the one to use her power.
Kate cheering Emilyko up by cleaning the room mirrors the scene in the first season when Kate is having a massive panic / self-hatred attack at how her body makes everything around her dirty and sooty and Emilyko comes in and both figuratively and literally fills the room with sunshine as opens the window and starts cleaning.
I think you're right about what the coffee represents (and it easily could represent drugs directly – think of the Opium Wars in China, contemporaneous to Shadows' House Victorian-esque setting), but in that scene specifically, I think it's more getting at the way in which excessive work itself is mind-numbing and dehumanising. The dolls are kept so busy that they don't have time to even process how busy they are, just like a person working three different part time jobs and spending all of their time simply commuting between them and just barely managing to stay ahead on rent doesn't have the time to think about how bad their situation is and imagine what a better-functioning society might look like.
Last overly long comment of the season…. It was a fun ride

He's shown in the veiled doll outfit in the little scene of him listening in on the gang after the fight, and you can see the collar of it under the robe.
-Fun fact about veiled dolls, speaking of Anthony. All of them, regardless of gender, wear dresses indoors and pants when working outdoors. So our pretty boy be rocking a fancy dress under that robe, lmao
-Now we have Schrödinger's Roses. Did they survive? Did they not? Even manga readers have no clue
-Now you might be thinking, how did Anthony get out of that room? Well…. we do call him Toilet Man for a reason~

Cut scenes are always sad to see, but time is of the issue when you're covering 3.5 chapters in one swoop. It loses bits of characterization, like the fact Sara FREAKED OUT when Kate was named leader, calling her a bootlicker, and Barbara had to call out Sara for acting like a spoiled huffy brat ("this is exactly why you aren't a leader.") in front of all the other 50 pairs. Oof, need some ice for that burn, Sara?
-Poor Belle is now just a lost sad kitten without her sister. Not sure if they're saving it for next season, but we did see how she died in this stretch of chapters. Sad it was cut.
-Emi standing up to Barbie, very nice conclusion of her personal growth arc
-And all the fun things in the aftercredit, hehehe.
I think it's just Mary's hairclip rose. She probably gave it to Kate after the fight. The sootman is the one Kate made.
Margaret creeping on Pat in the bushes, Suzanna and Oliver being their dorky selves, Lou and Louise getting those gains, John learning how to write~ And the two remaining roses. Red and Blue, the opposites, but also complementary.

I loved seeing the Emiliko and Barbie scene, but I'm really sad that they didn't show the Belle sister's death scene. Imo it made it all more impactful, and really showed the horrifying reality they are living in.
It was a short (just two pages), but very effective scene in the manga in chapter 79.
You see both of the Belle sisters on infirmary beds, one of them is sitting while the other is lying down, both of them are visibly exhausted (lips dry and you can see the outline of the bones on her faces). The one who's sitting starts talking about how good it is that they're finally getting out of their punishment of cleaning the soot pipes, she then looks at her sister and the untouched plate of food that she has on her hands, and asks her if she isn't going to eat. The Belle lying down responds that she's really tired, and tells her sister to eat for her. While she watches her sister eating, she says "With this, my stomach is full. I'm so sleepy"…
And the scene ends with a panel of her dropping the spoon she had on her hand, arm falling off the bed.
Everytime I think about this scene I want to cry 😭. I really hope that they do season three because things only get better from here.

I'm actually kind of upset that this was cut! we were supposed to see a scene of how the other Belle died! it was one of the scenes i was most looking forward to! easily one of the most emotionally impactful moments! I won't go into details in case it appears in the potential season 3, but it's still pretty upsetting.
-also Sarah was supposed to object and argue a lot more when Kate was made team leader, it's not neccessarily bad that it was cut here, but it feels weird character wise that she didn't
