  1. I lost my 16 year old cat in August so when I saw Sherpa had to go to the emergency vet my heart stopped. Very few pets have average life spans longer than their owners. The sadness we feel toward the end of their lives is the penalty for all the love we get from them. The pain is hard but so much smaller than the love they give.

  2. My grandma's spaniel has a condition that is similar but its the left side of her face. She gives her medicated eye drops twice a day and has to clean the goop out of her eye, but it doesn't seem to bother her. Hope Serpa makes a full recovery!

  3. Bless your hearts , both of you. Such a good boy and such an awesome fur-father. I call my baby funny names too, like booger nuggets, farty pants, goofy drawers, mudders b'y…abd so on. Thankfully twas nothing serious.❤

  4. We had this but drops were provided. In our case that flap wanting to dry exposed, reduce any possible inflammation behind the connection area.

It started improving within 4 months, mostly resolved by nine, then happened again but instructions helped to improve faster.
I'd still get advice early from eye specialist. Ours knew more and appreciated being referred despite late.
It shouldn't be able to cover completely but can effect balance and any drying carrying debris to cornia.
They are our furry kids and sure count on us as they age.

  5. We've got a 14 y-old GSD with hip dysplasia – its always a struggle keeping up with her aches and pains – and then the trips to the vet – always good to know there's nothing too serious – even better knowing they'll be in your life for a while longer – blessings on the two of you

  6. Jamie, I have a home-cooked receipt that might help Sherpa.
    1 large sweet-potato cubed
    1 large organic beet cubed
    3 medium carrots chopped
    3 stocks celery
    1 lb lean ground beef
    1 lb ground turkey
    1/2 cup, 125mL. Oats
    1/3 cup, 80mL brown rice
    1/3 cup, 80mL quinoa
    1/4 cup, 60mL ground flaxseed
    1/4 cup, 60mL chia seed
    1 bunch kale
    1 bunch spinach
    1 bunch parsley

    In Instant pot 20 minutes.
With potato masher mix and break-up and add 15oz can mackerel
    15oz can salmon
    8oz can oysters in water
1 tablespoon salt with iodine or 5 tbsp ground seedweed/kelp
3 whole eggs (shells and all) mix well while mixture is still hot.
    Cool and store in freezer/refrigerator.
2-3% body weight if fed alone or 1 heaping tbsp as a topper.
    Watch weight and adjust amount

Also is not against raw, 1 or 2 chicken paw/foot will do wonders.

Best to you Jamie and Sherpa!

  7. I know you’re a good dad but change his food, the most health issues are from junk kibble (dry food) . He needs fresh food or freeze dried raw. They thrive on that. The poor thing can barely walk ☹️❤️🐶

  8. I hope Sherpa gets better soon. Sometimes I read this can happen with a trauma or an ear infection. Have vet make sure his ears are good just in case. Thanks for taking such good care of him.
