Elon Musk declared “Starship Flight 3 reach orbit with NEW 33 engines”…
“So Flight, Flight 2 actually almost made it to orbit”. “I think we’ve got a really good shot of reaching orbit with Flight 3”.
These were the very bold statements of Elon Musk in a recent presentation. But you know, Elon himself admitted that getting to space is easy but getting to orbit is a hundred times harder.
So in today’s episode of Great SpaceX, we will find out why Starship reaching orbit is so difficult and why Elon Musk is much more confident to reach orbit with Starship Flight 3.

So If IFT 3 becomes successful – taking Ship to orbit and managing to recover the booster, Will there be need of FAA license again?
Amazing ❤❤
Second test launch showed clearly that Starship project has serious conceptual problems.
Starship did not manage to get orbital speed, but its tanks were near empty, though flying without payload whatsoever.
Adding promised payload mass of 100+ Tons and the picture looks pretty gloomy.
Even when they started with SS-1 testing, calculations showed that things are not soo bright with the Delta V to reach the orbit.
Since then they had to add more empty mass to achieve this beer can´s structural strenght and integrity.
Maybe, just maybe there is some reason why all space rockets were built using complex materials not just an Iron.
Maybe there is something to do with strenght/weight ratio.
Maybe beer cans are not suitable for space flights at all.
They should fly a cyber truck or two into space and play Deep Purple-Space Truckin’
Imagine if Starship was already flying it could have rescued the now faulty Perrigrine Mission and saved millions of dollars…..
Islam is the path of truth
Blue Origin's BE4 engines have reached orbit why are your videos always well over a week out of date???
Main issue is that Elon Musk does not have enough money to lobby the Laws of Physics onto his favour.
like a record that has to many scratches – recording keeps skipping… 🙁
Elon have you considered adding dead weight for separation stage, to eliminate any issues at separation?
Would love to meet & talk to you in person.
Said it before I love the fact you don't do hard cuts and keep the slight mistakes in, it's why I love watching your videos as they feel more real! Thank you for the effort you put into them
Your voice overs are getting worse. You are supposed to improve over time not decline
Ya all want to talk to aliens, im gona eat at least one!
My understanding is that SpaceX has yet to try to get Starship to orbit. They are targeting just short of orbit to avoid the risk of adding to the existing clutter in orbit. Also, to the best of my knowledge, we have yet to learn what happened to the IFT2 Starship, the booster is believed to be an issue with the venting of propellant; but nothing yet on the second stage.
BO a "space giant," HaHaHaHaHaHaHaaaaaa
Well. 33 engines is quite of redundancy.
Impressive. Fatality. Cabalo. Wins
your title is fake!!!! led me to believe flight 3 was done……. bullshittttt
fake news!!!!!
Musk has been putting rockets into orbit for 10 years, including taking astronauts to and from the ISS. He put his personal vehicle in orbit, not around Earth, but around MARS! It's just this new rocket hasn't yet. It's only had 2 flights and the 2nd would have succeeded if it had a payload. 3rd time will be the charm.
Blue has reached orbit at this point. It was their engines that Vulcan flew on. First time go.
Let’s hope IFT3 comes to fruition early on in February, and multiple additional missions follow in short order throughout the remainder of 2024. The only way to meet those goals of attaining the Moon and Mars are by flying and testing as often as possible.
freemason low jinx
Why vent the liquid oxygen when there’s no payload? Is it a weight issue?
This channel is not for me… urgh
Getting to orbit: The main difference between SpaceX and NASA seems to be the solid state boosters, or 3 stages, or reserving Earth- landing fuel. Comments?
