  1. These “incels” (involuntarily celibate, in case anyone forgot the actual meaning) are COMPLETELY voluntarily celibate. Be a decent human being, genuinely care, I guarantee you – you will get laid. Sick men use this “nice guy” or “incel” excuse for a lot…they’re just monsters

  2. I live in the neighbourhood where the Toronto attack happened. I am so thankful that I was not in the area at the time, because it could have easily been me. I remember the non-stop sirens for the entire day. It was horrific.

The scumbag's defence lawyer tried to say that he had autism and that was why he went on his rampage. It enrages me that while he may or may not have autism, he has tried to use it as an excuse as to why he thought it was okay to murder people in the name of a horrible ideal. Thankfully, he's be put in jail where he belongs, and I hope he rots in there.

  3. I don’t get it. Do incels not know about prostitutes? I’ve never been to one but from what I gather, they’ll do the sex with just about anyone (supreme gentlemen included)

  4. The thing that infuriates me most about Eliot is that he's not even an ugly person. In fact at a glance he actually looks moderately handsome, but he had such an utterly poisoned mind and such a completely venomous personality and ideology.

Maybe if he took one moment looking in the mirror and asked himself if he was the problem, he could have had a happy life. Maybe if he took one moment of self reflection, he could have had all he dreamed of.

But like our dear writer so eloquently put it. He was a pissant. A stain on humanity. Someone as vile as him didn't deserve love and someone as vile as him would never have tried to be better.

  5. Coffeehouse crime did a video on Eliot Roger as well, and in that video he actually played some of those YouTube clips that we only got to hear quotes from with silent images here. I think Coffeehouse made the right choice there by letting us hear the poison right from the snake's own mouth. Watching those clips really lets you see how disgusting this child really was.

I actually really appreciate it whenever true crime uses resources like that in their videos since it lets you experience the actual evidence for the story, which Casual Criminalist does for a few of their videos, such as letting us hear the 911 calls Paul Michael Stephani (The Weepy-Voiced Killer) made.

I think it's a bit of a missed opportunity that they chose not to do so for this episode since I really think nobody else says how much of a dirtbag Eliot Roger was better than Eliot Roger himself. However, I can absolutely understand and respect it if Simon chose not to because he didn't want to give Eliot's videos a platform.

  7. I think Matt and Simon dropped the ball on this one. Please stick with me for a moment, this is an honest critique. I do hope Matt writes more in the future.

Whenever a CC script covers the unforgivable, disgusting actions of a disturbed individual, I expect a somber examination of events leading up to preventable tragedy. You do your best to place blame on a root cause. Then (after a significant amount of tangents) the episode closes with self-reflection, or an attempt to educate the viewer: "If anyone in your life has these sorts of issues, talk to them; Jen will put some contact info onscreen…" That kind of vibe.

This episode is just a circus. It's 45 minutes of dunking on a dead guy, laughing at all the problems that broke his brain, omitting red flags that people in his life minimized, and rushing toward the ending, rather than paying respect to the victims as living people.

What really strikes me is Matt's disregard for the incel community's responsibility in all this. Far from being some weirdo loser thing that Rodger was into, the community is currently active and still very harmful to members. It insulates itself by convincing outcasts they're better off without society and/or without mental counseling. Matt and Simon don't hear about incels because members lay low, avoiding anyone they think might be a source of trauma (in other words, everyone). It's a terribly depressing situation, which in my opinion deserves in-depth discussion.

Anyway, cheers. Here's to the next maple syrup heist.

  8. 28:13 This scum bag actually had people watching his videos on YouTube?!!! It’s been two years now and I’ve got three subscribers.

Elliot, you know NOTHING about pain. Simon has the most offensive studio decor lighting known to exist, my studio lighting is fancy. This world really is deeply cruel.

Simon, I have a thing for highly intelligent women (adult human females) with soft hands. Simon, I don’t know exactly how but I feel you are at fault.

Yes, you are definitely to blame for my life’s circumstances, doesn’t matter that we’ve never met. Don’t obfuscate the fact that you are solely responsible, some how.

I’m a forgiving man Simon, and I am willing to forgive you, and your treacherous choices in studio decor lighting.

All expenses paid holiday, not to your place Jesus what am I some kind of village peasant. No, we fly to Qatar and drink much cocaine laced alcohol, and flirt with women in modest bikinis.

    Simon, make it so!!

  9. I work for a crisis/suicide hotline. I would be shocked to find out his local crisis line didn’t try to constantly help him.

I talk to the incel/red pill guys everyday I work. I have the job because I have empathy for them. Most the guys (and rare girls) have ASD or other social struggles.

It’s not so much them as it is the social message. They don’t have the thing that we have that shows us how to spot fake vs. reality. They are so angry because they think they whole world is that 6-6-6 guy and they are not.

While most of you want to scream outrage and lack of personal accountability. (I do when I’m off the clock.) you have to remember that these guys push everyone away because they can’t be fiction. They call me a cunt, tell me crying is for bitches. I even validate the white supremacy syndrome. But when all is said and done they go to bed every night with no one being nice to them that day. They live in a prison of their own making, but it’s a prison nonetheless.

TLDR: guys like this suck ass, but are damaged broken people who deserve help. Though won’t ever get it because of disabilities.

  10. Isla Vista seemed to be sort of split between incels. There's this one part who try to rebrand themselves as trying to reinvent the entire phrase: they go around saying that "everyone in their some point has been an incel", which is clear attempt to get away from negative associations.

It didn't take of course, because majority still stuck to the major principles of their ideals (Women/Stacies do violence to them by not having sex with them, Chads are walking over them, unfairness of sexual hierarchy, etc).

There's also been interesting shift that some part of Incel community has become somewhat less hostile to "Chads". Example is this "Romeo pimps" like Andrew Tate, who Rodger would've shot.

  11. What happens when 90% of females go after the the top 10% of males? Bad things. That being said I think the writer made a very good point at the end. This guy was attractive, but he was going after super hot girls instead of just talking to a cute girl. I'm sure this guy could have got plenty of 6-8 girls even with his bad social skills just on his looks alone. Then again he was mentally ill…

  12. Before I carry on the video I find the part where you mention not understanding people outside of your normal bubble – and how your friends are married and in relationship and so on – in general, kind of ignorant and possibly part of problem. When there is enough people around you who experienced certain path and you haven't been able to do same, then that alone might contribute to something.

  13. If you buy a gun in a licensed gun shop you do fill out a form-4473 and an instant background check is run right then. Some states have waiting periods but they vary by state and type of gun.

  14. To clarify US gun laws for Simon: Purchasing a firearm requires one to pass an FBI background check. In South Carolina, acquiring a concealed weapons license requires passing a background check, classroom instruction, passing a written test, passing a firing range test, and having one's photograph and fingerprints on file with the state. My instructor was a police detective.

  15. On the other hand, I actually read the other day that 80% of college-age Boyz men whatever actually consider it sexual harassment to ask a woman out for coffee. My God, can you imagine?

  16. I don't know much about the states but in canada the firearms laws are strict and getting stricter because our pm thinks that cracking down on legal firearms owners will get rid of the illegal firearms. Anyway…yes. we have to take a course to get a firearms license. Depending what kind of firearms you want to own…restricted, non restricted although now at the moment no one can buy hand guns as far as I know even if you have the license for it. You also cannot but ammunition if you don't have a license. Pretty much every firearms related offense in canada was committed with illegally obtained firearms. Elliot Roger sounds like a right bellend. There should've been better background checks on him.

  17. It's amazing to think about how similar to serial killers people like this are. Except that almost all serial killers have hell-trauma in their past that, while it doesn't make them understandable, it at least explains the general anything-goes nothing-is-too-bad reality of their existence. And then there's people like this, who have nothing of note wrong in their lives, who by all accounts could have skated through life if they'd just pretended to be nice some of the time. How the hell do those extreme opposites have such astonishingly similar outcomes?

And yes, some of them are both, but the difference between an incel on a rampage and a serial killer is just how long they want to enjoy it.
