Elephant Rescued After Getting Trapped on Railway Tracks in Coorg

In a recent incident in Walnur village, Coorg, a wild elephant, in search of food, attempted to cross the railway tracks. Unfortunately, the elephant got tangled in the railway wires, with its spine caught, leaving the animal unable to move.
The rescue operation led by Subrah, the Sub-Divisional Forest Officer of the Fish Kolli Circle Forest Department swiftly rescued the elephant. The entire team worked together to cut through the railway wires and successfully freed the elephant.
However the elephant’s condition remains unclear, and many are expressing concern about its survival. The Railway Department has installed barricades in the forests of Coorg to prevent wildlife from entering human settlement areas. However, due to broken railway pole lines, encroachments by forest animals into agricultural areas have become a major concern, with occasional crop damage
