Robs first time watching Battlestar Galactica: Colonial Day :
President Roslin reconstitutes the Quorum of Twelve, a representative body within the Colonial government. Tom Zarek, who had called for Roslin’s resignation, is nominated to fill the vacant role of Vice President. Worried that Zarek may try to assassinate her if he wins, Roslin initially drafts her friend and confidante Wallace Gray to run against Zarek. After Gray proves uncharismatic, she pushes him aside in favor of Gaius Baltar.
Apollo and Starbuck arrest a man named Valance who has smuggled a handgun aboard Cloud Nine, the ship where the Quorum meeting is being held. They suspect that he may have ties to Zarek but find him dead in his holding cell in an apparent suicide.
Baltar wins the election. Zarek warns Roslin he will be back during the presidential election in six months and claims he did not kill Valance.
On Caprica, Helo and Boomer prepare to hijack a Cylon ship to escape the planet when he sees another Number Eight copy that looks just like Boomer. Realizing that she, too, is a humanoid Cylon, he flees.

Adama: "Dr. Baltar. Interesting choice."
Roslin: "I figured, the devil you know."
Zarek almost succeeded in his coup against Roslin but it was almost predictible that Gaius would come to the "rescue" again! It's well established, now, that he is that kind of character.
It was also a heart warming scene at the end seeing some of the galactica crew having fun and dancing.
Meanwhile on caprica Helo's world is crumbling with the discovery he made about Sharon.
Also guys bare in mind that Battlestar Galactica is very stingy with copyright, and we tried our best to deliver as much of the reaction as possible.

if the human looking cylons were machines or had mechanical parts, they'd be easy to make a detector for. Eg. x-ray. Gaius wouldn't be needed. My guess is the cylons are written to be organically identical to human beings for the sake of suspense. The difference being in some super sci-fi science way that doesn't detract from being physically organic human.
I'm not trusting Zarac at all, I don't think he killed the guy but he knows who did, Ellen uhg.
The late Richard Hatch is really incredible as Tom Zarek. He's very smooth and savvy, and not to be underestimated.
I loved that they brought on Apollo from the original show to play a different person in this version. Richard Hatch did a great job in this role. We kept waiting for Helo to figure it out when it first aired. Sharon is a cylon but I always thought the human equivalent versions were machine but on the micro cell level, as if they tried to duplicate every aspect of humanity so well it's almost like they are human. Like we now have nano cells.
I always assumed that Valance was Zarek's friend, but wasn't acting under orders but out of some misguided sense of trying to help.
LT. Agathon…..He isn't as popular as Starbuck or Apollo but I think Helo is an amazing character. Also Bill Adama and Laura Roslyn are like the dad and mom of the fleet. And… Giaus…always goofy yet brilliant and fun yet aggravating all wrapped up in one person. Thanks again for another fun reaction!☺💚
