YAAAAAAAAAS
What if planes are just Eldrazi poop? They eat one plane and crap out another.
Emrakul is such a boss, she didn’t even get beaten back… she intentionally retreated, she’s going to return, and when she does, it will be no less than a massacre!
Emrakul is easily my favorite of the Titans, but to be honest, I haven’t seen an Eldrazi that I don’t like, from the lowly Eldrazi scions to the three Titans themselves, which is why I have multiple decks dedicated to them!
Great video and breakdown!
Ayo I hear that Martian war machine cry from War of the Worlds. Very fitting for the Titans!
I'm rather conflicted about the Eldrazi, on one hand I'm a sucker for a cosmic horror stories where said cosmic horror can be beaten and the Gatewatch back when Gideon was alive was rather enjoyable IMO. On the other hand I find them simultaneously too weak and going down too quickly but also that their corruptive abilities too powerful. I really think angels and demons should be exempt or at the very least resistant.
Another cool video, thank you for spending your time and effort on this channel!
I think you're misusing the word "moniker." It doesn't mean "nickname." It means "name one gives oneself." They didn't give themselves their names. They're not "monikers."
Finally ❤️
😀
They are my neighbors!
This was a great video!
I love this!!!
A theory I always liked was that eldrazi were meant to prevent timespirals like those on Dominaria from building up
My favorite is Emrakul, and her gigantic beauty.
I'm only just noticing that Kozilek's "halo" looks like Ulamog's "skull" split open.
You forgot to mention the most important thing. While Ulamog and Kozilek were defeated by the Gate Watch, it was Emrakul herself who imprison herself into the Innistrad's moon (By taking control of Tamyo and having Tamyo cast the spell). To this day we don't know why Emrakul did it, as her victory was almost assured.
All of this means, we actually don't know the Eldrazi's purpose. If they just want to consume (each with their own method), why did Emrakul stop?
As a fan of cosmic horror, the eldrazi fits right inn, and are one of my favorite mtg creatures. I do wish Wizards stayed away from gendering them, as that lessens their alien and unhuman feel. I understand the gamplay reason for giving them colored manacosts, but I'll still call it a flavour fail. As for witch I like the most, that is too hard a question. They all have aspects that are awsome. Don't really believe Ulamog or Kozilek are dead tho. Shure they got destroyed, bot as enteties not bound by the laws of the universe, that might not be as finale as one would think.
I hope after the current Phyrexian story arc they bring back the Eldrazi.
What if……the eldrazi are just pets to a much more powerful being that goes searching for them when they are destroyed?
This channel is way to underrated
next video, a study in power, brushwags
Would laugh if they said eldrazi make planes so they can harvest them
Sweet video. Eldrazi are awesome.
Great video. As (unsolicited, I know) feedback, I'd just tone down the editing a notch… Too much noise in the cards, pixelated transitions, glitches etc. Sometimes images look low-res because of these effects. See 13:59 for an example of how the background image stays low res for a while after the pixelated transition happens. At 12:56 Kozilek's Channeler never becomes fully rendered. My personal view as both a graphic designer and fan of magic art: Sometimes a simple, good high res image of the artwork / card with just a bit of movement or zoom is more than enough. 🙂
What would happen if phyraxians met the Eldrazi?
nice fucking jump scare a 9:28
I, for one, think it’s all the same creature; just one. Each Titan, a major part of a body. Each brood, simply the rest of it. Like looking into the distortion of moving water, you have no idea what you see. And as a reality trying to comprehend what has entered, it’s equally confused from where.
Great video and summary! What are you thoughts about Emrakul's "conversation" with Jace? It seems to suggest they are sentient and has some purpose we don't quite comprehend.
I have been waiting for this one. I am still not quite sure what are Eldrazi.
Evreytime I look at culling drone, I can't help but think of the Paramites from Abes Exodus and Oddessey.
I came to mtg during mirrodin, and the eldrazi defined what I loved the most, character wise. The power, they hold is crazy, and ppl hate seeing them drop on the board, but there fun, even when playing against.
The most terrifying thing about Emrakul is she thinks, reasons, and chooses. She is not a mindless monster, but a cosmic being beyond even Jace's compression with an agenda of her own. She sees, knows, and understands more than any other character and is working out of benevolence. Apparently.
Emrakul loves us,
this I know,
cause she told us so.
Lore: Emrakul intentionally traps herself in a moon thus defeating herself.
Gameplay: Gets taken out by 15 squirrels
Everything I wanted to know about Eldrazi but was too lazy to research myself! Another amazing video Erek!
The way I see them they’re not exactly the same thing as biological organism, they’re kind of the avatars of living entropy. They’re a necessary part of the multiverse as they potentially prevent stagnation
The eldrazi are my favorite of the tribal types. Very destructive and mean.
Eldrazis introduced me to MTG. It was Ulamog I fell in love with because the playstyle suit me most. It's like playing MTG without thinking that much– just bring out huge guns.
As a total newb to MTG- the Eldrazi are Magic's version od the Old Gods?
Ngl the idea of seeing the titans approach New Phyrexia and them recycling it because of how far gone it is from Mirrodin would kinda get me excited
Also known as "Lovecraftzis" 😄
“Each Eldrazi ancient spawned a lineage of horrors in unfathomable shapes”
So here are some shapes we fathomed for those. I hate when people do that
Honeslty I love the Eldrazi, Kozilek being my personal favorite. I wish wizards didn't decide to kill them off however. I understand that they are a dauting enemy and almost unstoppable but I feel like the death of both Kozilek and Ulamog is boring and should have been stopped another way.
The Eldrazi seems like a combination of kaiju and lovecraftian gods, kind of a force of nature and involved with the story (like a kaiju) but also kind of ineffable (like an elder god). I really like the eldrazi as a threat because it's lacking understandable agenda. Sure you can say it's about truths we cannot understand, but most of them just mindlessly follow instinct and the horror is really that we try to make sense of something that isn't really complicated, just hopeless. Sure you can suggest that there is deeper meaning like the suggestion of "clearing up space" for new planes, but I sort of think that's just wishful thinking or us thinking we can understand something with such a destructive, distruptive and world ending instinct. This is how they differ from phyrexians in my opinion because, even though phyrexia is horrifying, it's understandable. The Eldrazi just don't care about you. They will destroy you just because you are alive, as is the tree beside you, and you aren't more important.
