  1. I thought it was ok but man did people really oversell this. Like yeah its open world and its a from software game but I expected them to get a bit more creative and open up their games with something new but instead were undead again and on a pilgrimage where we will fight iconic baddies and become lord/monarch/chosen/kindled and plot end. The world is what I would expect by now from any open world game but god the performance on pc is rough for 3000series users and they did not bother to add dlss yet so you can not soften the blow on the performance. It's a good game but I feel like its not as good as people make it out to be.

  2. As a new FromSoftware player, its reassuring to know the intention WAS for me to fuck off in a random direction because I'm not strong enough yet. And that isn't necessarily an indication that I'm shit.

  3. My favorite new feature is mountain climbing adventures. Gotta love how the horse can stand on pretty much any protrusion from a sheer cliff that has even a slightly flat top.
It's like he's not even a horse, but some weird horse-sized mountain goat that can jump like he's not carrying a buff idiot wearing enough armor to be classified as main battle tank.

  4. Story time! (40,000+runes at lvl 50): was goin through rot swamp when random knight kills me with his pokey bits, i begin to make my way back there, halfway thru the swamp npc phantom summons out of nowhere, torrent says im out bruh, so im dropped into deep rot, gain status effect, gets bitchslapped by npc's ash of war, all within a 5 min period after a 2-3 hour grind. Unf.

  5. I’ve noticed a lot of mini bosses decide to take the witch of hemwick elective in that you aren’t threatening yourself yet you can summon dudes that range from actual threat to obstacles that try your patience. Thumbs up for the really cool quest line that forces to fight at my current time of playing two of these guys.

  6. The boss he mentioned was one of the few times I summoned another player. It was fun the first time but having to redo it everytime I got to the second phase sucked. If the first phase was permanently over after your first victory I would have remembered it as one of my favorite boss fights no joke

  7. The problem is, the games are too hard and difficulty is poorly balanced and the instant you mention it rabid fanboys who like their e-peens and bragging rights will start trolling.

It's yet another way of artificially inflating game time and raising difficulty just by limiting the player. Just like online RPGs adding a cooldown to dodging and healing, before you spend many hours learning attack patterns and minute attack tells simple skill is not enough as bosses and even mobs attack too fast to reliably react in time. If these games were well designed they would rely less on being a chore before finally becoming fun and more on properly testing skill more than knowledge new players obviously don't have. As it stands they are not very different from SMT games without a way to easily analyze enemy weaknesses and players dying just because they cannot possibly know some random boss repels ice attacks so they use their ice attack, have half their party wiped out from the repelled damage and the rest when all other turns are lost as punishment for this lack of knowledge and the boss attacks the fragile survivors.

Nowadays a game that requires a guide if you don't wanna randomly guess for hours is just sad but it's also hard as a side effect so internet prestige means no one will admit this is dumb lest trolls mock them.

  8. Although I died once because I was learning the encounter, I was surprised by how easy Rennala was for me…of course I put many points into strength just so I can ungabunga swing at stuff really really hard. Magic attacks still 1-2 shot me, but it's been fun time regardless. Kind of surprised you had issue with that encounter. Let us know how you feel about Radahn…which is insanely more infuriating in design compared to breaking up nap time in Magical-Kindergarten.

  9. I tried to play Dark Souls a while back because it was so popular and… I just couldn't get into it. Sure, it's "hard" or whatever, but there's no story or characters and I really just can't find a reason to keep playing. Elden Ring has the same problem. I just don't care. Maybe some people like the intentionally obtuse thing, and that's fine, but I don't. I really came into Elden Ring wanting to like it but it just hasn't given me a good reason to keep playing. The gameplay is fine but not good enough on its own to keep me interested. Though to be fair, very few games have gameplay good enough to keep me interested just by itself.

  10. Sorry to bring it to you mate, but you grinded your head up agenst an optional boss in an optional dungeon.
Well…most of the bosses are optional, since you only need to take out 8 bosses total untill you reach the end credits, assuming you managed to find the alternate paths to some places.
Also, Sotrmveil is also optional, since the things you get there arent needed for progression.
But then agen, booting up the game and making a character is also technically optional, assuming nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to play trough Elden Ring. Am just saying, i dont think most of us play this game to finish it, its more about the journey then the destination, since in my opinion, some of the best boss fights in Elden Ring is hidden deep in the darkest corners in the Lands Between.

  13. My only real complaint is that they didn't let me name the horse. Calling out "Come Derpy! WE RIDE!!" would be a lot more fun without my little muderpony rolling its eyes every time.

  14. Lmao holy filtered. Almost nothing you said is accurate to the game itself, moreso shifting blame to the game for mistakes and oversights you made as a player. I love your reviews man but this is embarrassing.

  15. @4:42 Is this ironic humor, or has everybody forgotten how to spell 'psych'? Getting pretty tired of seeing the word 'casted' – okay, 'sheeps' is funny because we all know it's wrong, but I really don't know if 'casted' falls into the same category…

  16. I heard that playing this on last gen consoles caused a lot of problems. How noticeable or irritating is it if it does happen, when this is played on an Xbox One or PS4? Can somebody who has tried that out tell me?

  17. I enjoyed the game so much more when I switched from pursuing the main plot to just exploring. Not only was discovering hidden enemies and treasure much more fun and rewarding than throwing myself endlessly at Margit, the You-Can-Catch-These-Hands Man. But, by the time I was satisfied with my exploring, I came back and trounced the same bosses that had given me so much trouble before.

  18. I can’t believe you stopped when you were only like 2% in and missed the really good boss fight near the end with a giant disembodied tit on a shelf!

  19. one thing i appreciate about crafting.
because (for common items) the resources are quite plentiful, but you can only carry a maximum amount and can't craft in combat. this is one of the first times i actually used consumable items in a souls game. as one who doesn't like to look up the wiki for every boss's weakness… i have beaten entire games without using firebombs because "oh no, i might need these on a later mob and i don't want to farm endless souls to buy more when those souls could instead go to more stats"
because you generally have the materials for lots, but can only use a few at a time, that actually encouraged me to use the items instead of hording them incessantly. so at the very least i appreciated that. because now i can actually test out "does this thing take more from fire?" without feeling like i've permanently lost my chance to use one of these annoyingly uncommon items on a boss that REALLY needs it
