Elden Ring is massive and like other FromSoftware games, it can be challenging. Here a guide on where to go first so you don’t get lost or overwhelmed by area you’re not quite ready for.
So you’ve just stepped foot in Limgrave for the first time and you’re wondering what you should do first. This beginning area of Elden Ring is big and offers lots of things to do as well as secrets to find. With this starter path, you’ll be ready to take on any challenges that come your way.
In this Elden Ring beginner’s guide, we’re taking you step by step from your first Site of Grace to your second, third and beyond. We’re giving you some key locations to visit in order to obtain items that will make your time in The Lands Between even more enjoyable and, at times, less challenging. And for those looking for an easier way to explore Elden Ring’s second location, we show a hidden path that does not involve fighting a boss character.
We have a separate video to help you choose which Elden Ring class is right for you, as well as more guide content, so make sure you subscribe to GameSpot on YouTube and check out the written versions on gamespot.com. In our Elden Ring review in progress, Tamoor Hussain awarded the game 10/10, calling it “a masterpiece of open-world design that places exploration and player agency at the heart of the experience.”

The wich not appearing for me
If you buy a lantern, you still have both hands free, say for a shield or staff
Take the class which seems most fun to you. It's a game to be enjoyed so enjoy first as such you can later get everything other classes have.
"After you're done with all of this, I want you to hop on Torrent"
Me: as I'm hopping onto Torrent and following his directions to the tee "haha, who the heck does this guy think he is?"
90mins in and I just realised I missed the tutorial 😂 Time to delete my progress and start again.
I'm brand new to this game and I see other players using all these cool skills and things , but for some reason I don't have them or know how to use them .. since I tried everything and all my character does is regular attacks ..
Found my way at level 1 in caleid and that crystal cave. And no idea how to get out. That chest tricked me lol
Wow I spent hours trying to fight high level bosses right off the bat. 😑
Thx for this, I was going to go to the manor first anyways but at least now I know that's a good choice.
You go to cation manor first before the academy? Is that for Renna’s questline?
You're a G
"The world is truly your oyster."
Pour one out for all the people with a shellfish allergy.
this was so useful thank you gamespot. this is my first from software game i’m definitely a bit overwhelmed but this has helped me a lot
I highly advice people not to watch these types of videos and just explore the game. Trust me.
20hrs in and I’m still watching lol.
Where u should go first is turn the video off and explore.
Nice guide. Very helpful.
This Video can only really destroy your experience, as it’s the complete opposite of what the game achieves to be. There is no guide, no quest marker and such… don’t destroy your experience!
i played every dark souls but in elden ring I dont know whats going on at all
Played the original dark souls 75+hrs never finished it but I seriously temped to go back to from software games and this might be the one thanks to this guide.
0:38 "class can be easily changed" ok buddy. I didn't expect anything less from thw uk
I have never played any of the souls games (I usually stay away from games that people claim are hard) but i really want to play Elden Ring but i got some questions:
1. Will summoning the spirits make the game less challenging for me?
2. Can I summon spirits at every boss battle?
3. Can i request for help from an online player at every boss battle or that feature is reserved for specific boss battles
Tips are on point until the 6 min do what ever u want is not a tip lol but thanks for the first 6 min lol
I missed 95% of this video. I took a completely opposite route.
I'm just happy to see all the newcomers having a blast once they get over the initial shock on how overwhelming it can be. See how much more fun a game can be without questmarkers and icons all over the map and hud? Everyone finds their own path and has a unique experience. I'm loving this game myself.
Sometimes when I hit with my sword, it deflects off after the first hit and won’t let me combo unless I used heavy attacks. Please help…
The unblockable shield is a must have!!! And dont fret this is the number one rage game of the year!!! There will be numerous times a enemy will one shot you..lol
I'm sick of walking around the same fields, how do you leave the starting area? surely the small map of a few fields i'm currently on isn't the entire game?
The beta test preview made the main boss in the network test look easy until I tried it. I guess I should explore some more before I go in
Wandered into caelid, saw some mountains, except it was a dragon. I peed a little.
YAWNNNNN… uninstall.

Best starting video imo 👍

Still remember watching Your dark souls One video’s And How You helped me throughout The entire game on Your OWN channel dave control
I beat magrit after the 400th million attempt. Then realised it was waaaaaay to early for me lol. Really appreciate the video. Thank you
I don't get where is the prologue. I just popped out of the grave

Groveside boss is like seriously impossible for me
