Elden Ring Where To Go First | Beginners Guide

Elden Ring is massive and like other FromSoftware games, it can be challenging. Here a guide on where to go first so you don’t get lost or overwhelmed by area you’re not quite ready for.

So you’ve just stepped foot in Limgrave for the first time and you’re wondering what you should do first. This beginning area of Elden Ring is big and offers lots of things to do as well as secrets to find. With this starter path, you’ll be ready to take on any challenges that come your way.

In this Elden Ring beginner’s guide, we’re taking you step by step from your first Site of Grace to your second, third and beyond. We’re giving you some key locations to visit in order to obtain items that will make your time in The Lands Between even more enjoyable and, at times, less challenging. And for those looking for an easier way to explore Elden Ring’s second location, we show a hidden path that does not involve fighting a boss character.

We have a separate video to help you choose which Elden Ring class is right for you, as well as more guide content, so make sure you subscribe to GameSpot on YouTube and check out the written versions on gamespot.com. In our Elden Ring review in progress, Tamoor Hussain awarded the game 10/10, calling it “a masterpiece of open-world design that places exploration and player agency at the heart of the experience.”

  1. "After you're done with all of this, I want you to hop on Torrent"

Me: as I'm hopping onto Torrent and following his directions to the tee "haha, who the heck does this guy think he is?"

  2. I'm brand new to this game and I see other players using all these cool skills and things , but for some reason I don't have them or know how to use them .. since I tried everything and all my character does is regular attacks ..

  3. This Video can only really destroy your experience, as it’s the complete opposite of what the game achieves to be. There is no guide, no quest marker and such… don’t destroy your experience!

  4. I have never played any of the souls games (I usually stay away from games that people claim are hard) but i really want to play Elden Ring but i got some questions:

    1. Will summoning the spirits make the game less challenging for me?

    2. Can I summon spirits at every boss battle?

    3. Can i request for help from an online player at every boss battle or that feature is reserved for specific boss battles

  5. I'm just happy to see all the newcomers having a blast once they get over the initial shock on how overwhelming it can be. See how much more fun a game can be without questmarkers and icons all over the map and hud? Everyone finds their own path and has a unique experience. I'm loving this game myself.
