Inconsistent performance has been the one blemish in an otherwise stellar package, and unfortunately FromSoftware have made this something of a tradition with their game releases. Hopefully this will be fixed sooner rather than later. For now though, if performance is a major factor for you, it might be better to wait for a bit before playing the game.

It's a great game, but it keeps making my gaming PC crash. I've got 25+ hours in and am now at the point of not being able to play 5 minutes without the game crashing, black screening, and kicking my CPU fans to max.
My only complaint, and this is more of a personal preference, I liked how the dark souls games were on tracks forcing your progression. I guess having a world to explore helps to distract from boredom farming levels.
So this is a PC only issue then? On the PS5, there is the random far off pop-in, but the game runs smooth as butter and has no graphical issues in your immediate play area.
It definitely gives the impression though that the game was made for consoles (which isn't anything new honestly).
A Japanese company using an aging engine that needs to go, that sounds familiar if you're a fan of JRPG'S. Japanese developers are to stubborn to use engine that have already solved the problems they have.
I had some really bad stuttering, I raised my GPUs temp limit and fan speed and that seemed to help
Yong hyped this game to an 11 on his last video, then will slowly start backpedaling from here.
Looks awfully similar to his series of Cyberpunk2077 videos.
that was a bug? I thought that's just my pc being weak. I'm kinda happy about this revelation.
invisable enemys got me bum out…
My game won't save at all. I had to retart a new game twice. Still won't save. Wtf am I supposed to do
Dude, thanks for sharing the performance tips. I followed the tips in the review you highlighted and my framerates stabilized significantly. I was going to hold off on playing the game for a couple more patches but now I feel like I can really make some progress.
As a PC player, I can say I've been lucky to not experience any issues in regards to performance, save for the rare graphical pop-in. The biggest issue I've had is in regards to my controller, where I need to disconnect my mouse and keyboard before plugging in the controller everytime I boot up the game
I have had a few issues, like only one blood stain actually working, and a few issues trying to launch. However, the game is fun as hell.
Died to the crucible knight today due to lots of frame stutters when he was 1 shot :/
This has to be the PC version. Because I have not had any of this experience issues on the console version especially on my PS5 I have not come across any of these type of bugs.
Runs great on my ps5! Haven't experienced any issues, you people are failing to specify that this is a pc issue because everyone I know on ps5 has zero issues.
Why is it when I fight a boss I swing so slow and he is way faster than my character? š
It's more of the same. Slashing and rolling. I know that how these games go but I'm disappointed. I expected something new. Yes there's a mount and open world. It just still more of the same. I'm sorry the hype is not true it's fine but it's nothing we've never played before. I put in my first 6 hours and once you get past the hype of open world and mount… it's not anything new. Just my opinion š¤·
Had a power outage while playing, I was 4 hrs into the session. Once it came back on I booted the game again and all my progress in 4 hrs was gone. Back to where I started at the beginning of the day. I canāt even remember everything I did before, thereās so much. Just devastated
I increased my shader cache size, set the latency to ultra, disabled vsync (maybe) and put the game in borderless fullscreen so I could use freesync and it's been running much better
Yea got a pretty significant bug where regular enemies below miniboss level are straight up invisible sometimes, Torrent as well
Still been play, Psychopath that I am, but it's getting harder and harder defeating enemy mobs off sound queues xD
I wish YongYea would keep that same energy like he had when whining and nitpicking Horizon Forbidden West. Elden Ring has LOTS of bugs and runs like absolute dogshit on the Series X compared to the PS5 and PC. I instantly switched my preorder from Series X to PS5 seeing that both visual and performance modes gave 10-15 less frames per second and a patch isnāt going to fix it for Xbox players.
I got this game recently. It also has huge lag spikes and framerates suddenly drop in multiplayer encounters especially with bosses. The game also stutters and freezes when it renders the sandbox as you move. I have hardware specs well above the recommended.
We have to stop cryptominers from killing pc gaming because they are causing the graphic cards shortage
The game was running well for me on high graphics, but nearly all of the mobs were invisible. They wouldn't even load in when I was right next to them. Instead, they phased in and out of existence.
Perhaps people need faster Pcie ssd
The best patch in elden ring is in a cave and untathered.
As far as playing on ps5, I played this game nonstop over the weekend and I don't think I experienced a single hiccup. Not sure if this is more of a resolution mode problem or not, but I never use that mode because I think in 2022, still being 30fps is a bit silly especially with a game so timing heavy.
Been playing for over 12hrs. 0 issues on PC. Stop complaining about performance if you have a potato PC. Lol
There no DLSS
I played 21 hours with no major issues. The game takes a long time to launch though, like 45 to 90 seconds to get to title screen. Then today I tried to play and it says āframe rate unsuitable for online playā and sends me back to the title screen. I canāt play anymore. I tried the high performance graphics settings and it didnāt help. Gonna have to reinstall the game and that might not even do anything.
