Elden Ring Review Patch 1.021 Tons of Stuttering New Patch More New Problems

A 1.021 patch popped up for Elden Ring(I was not officially informed one was coming) and actually popped in more issues prior to launch. I assume others like Digital Foundry might also report this if they haven’t already. It’s not related to a rebuild of the cache either.

  1. Refund the game and never come back.

Every DX12 game I have seen runs terribly and this is no exception. Because it is so fundamental, I would not be surprised if they never patch it. Japanese devs do not care about performance but this time it has rendered the game unplayable in many sections.

  2. I’ve played on both series s on performance mode and series x on both modes and it runs fine. Zero issues. Unless this patch messes it up more, sure we can talk.. game is fine. Sometimes I think ACG does this for clicks now. He rushes a video out to get clicks because this game is so massive.

At the end of the day if people are having issues they will have it fixed in a week, was it necessary to rush this video out because you geniunely care about the community or because you knew this topic/headline at this time would generate you views?

  3. all of the NPCs and enemies in the over world are invisible for me currently. The game is beautiful and mostly runs smooth for me. So its a bit of a shame I cant actually play until a better patch comes out.

  4. It’s weird that this problem is happening on PC, but not on console. I wonder if the problem is with an anti-cheat or DRM in the PC release. Because there’s no reason PS5 should be running smoother than a high end PC.

  5. I'm getting 60 locked at 4k, maxed. Literally the only serious stutter I've had was during tree sentinel and there is mild hitching for around half a second when seeing a new area for the first time. Been very pleasantly surprised after the amount of doom pilling on the PC port.

  6. is this just poorly ported/optimized??? my rtx3060 i7-11k can barely reach 60fps at max settings at 1440p, 4k is just terrible even tho beautiful.. like at low settings im only hitting 30+fps ooff…. like yeah I can switch to 1080p res but it just looks like im playing on a ps4 quality which is yikes.. I have a ps5 and idk I feel like I might have to get the game there…

  7. This game is unplayable for me even on the lowest settings it sends me to the main menu because my frame rate is “too low” I have to reset my computer every time even on low settings I get black squares floating around my screen and then sent to the menu for “frame rate unplayable online”

  8. I’m really curious as to why every new game now seems to always be bugged and glitchy on release, like I understand there needs to be a day one patch usually but like damn, dying light 2, elden ring, cyberpunk, battlefield 2042, like hot damn and the list goes on

  9. Fromsoft will iron it out.
They're the only Japanese developer still worthy of my money and the only Japanese developer still making good games, as good as Japanese developers were in the 90's.
They're one of the only triple A developers left, in general, still making quality games – for that matter.

  10. This game looks worse than Death Stranding, Sekiro and only slightly better than Nioh 2… why are we still having this performance issues. Its a slightly upgraded Dark Souls 3 graphics wise.

  11. Just started to play the game, and yeah, its rough. I WANT to love this game but its just so hard playing at 40fps on low, in some areas. There is no need. Hopefully this game is big enough for FromSoftware to actually care about the PC version. It would be the first, but i'm out of my refund window, and pretty mad about it.

  12. Thank you Karak. As someone who really wanted to play Elden Ring on PC, I was so confused why reviewers I otherwise trust were reporting that the PC port was relatively fine when my experience was terrible. This video goes a long way to explain that discrepancy. Much appreciated, the industry is better with you in it.

  13. I thought I was going fucking nuts at first when I fired it up today. I am on a Ryzen 5800x and RX 6700xt and it was hitching and actually giving me slowdown for a second in the open world and no matter how bad I made it look I couldn't fix it. It's definitely distracting enough to notably detract from an otherwise excellent game, and I hope they fix it. PC players should consider it very carefully for now.

  14. Here is an actual possible fix, as it made my game 10 times better!! For some reason the game is defaulting to your on board graphics card!!
    1. Go to Windows Settings > System > Display
    2. Scroll down to "Graphics Settings"
    3. Click on "Browse" then find elden rings.exe (Steam > Steamapps > Common > Elden Ring > Game > eldenring.exe)
    4. Select eldenring.exe
    5. Click on "Options" and select your graphics card.
If it says "Let Windows decide" thats a problem, change it to "High Performance (your graphics card)

  15. this game defeated my 750ti. I tried everything… but the game just crash after 3seconds of whitescreen.

Oh well… It was a nice 8 years ride. But I don't want to upgrade with this GPU prices. I refuse.
