GTX 1060 6GB performance tested in Elden Ring PC on patch 1.02.2 on a fresh install of the graphics driver to see if asset loading/shader cashing is still causing FPS drops/stutters.

  1. Sorry about the audio quality on my mic in this video. Perhaps reinstalling the drivers messed with something on my mic settings. Not sure. Either way, I didn't have time to reshoot the video, so I just figured I would post it anyway.

  2. I have a 1080 and a 5820k, an old cpu which is debatably below the system requirements. i play offline with easy anticheat disabled, just google elden ring disable easy anticheat. no stutters, the occasional drop in fps when you go to another area which kinda puts the game in slow motion for a few seconds but no stutters like that. When a patch is released it enabled easy anticheat again and i started getting stutter. ok maybe its coincodence but I think its the easy anticheat that causes it as it constantly accesses your storage device. Would be interested to see you do an experiment with that,

  3. You are stuttering because of 'maximum' textures. You should keep it at medium for that card. Don't mistake vram usage is 3gig only, game engine utilizes other half for swapping and to maintain the streaming budget. Look how your vram usage is going up then down when game stutters. If you look at rtx 3080, game uses around 5gig, like I said, utilizes the half of vram available and leaves other half for the streaming budget. It doesn't mean game just using 3gb on 1060 or 5-6ish on 3080.

  5. I think the stutter problem are related to what card graph you are using, for example a friend of mine are playing with a i7, 1660s, high setting, 1080p and he doesn't have problems with stutters at all since the launch of the game

  6. I have an RX 580 and setting the textures to medium dramatically reduced the stutter time.

Edit: Do you think they can fix the asset related stutters via patch? I don't know anything about game development.

  7. I'm playing on an i5-3570K, not overclocked, 1070 gpu and 16gb ddr3 ram. Elden Ring low settings, after 03/02 patch, I didn't experience in stuttering and I was battling the Tree Sentinel.

  8. To force the problem to show up you shall get mounted in the horse, then start running and do sudden aggressive turns. You can turn your view only. The 2 best areas near the beginning to test it is at the Tree Sentinel and Warmaster's Shack, you just take the right after passing through Gatefront. Its aways rainy there and I tend to see the game doing those huge stuttering, specially around the giant trolls.

  9. I have the same issues with a similar setup. Have you tried running it on Windows 10 yet?
I noticed some issues with stuttering in Dark Souls III right after upgrading to Windows 11.
