Elden Ring PC Patch 1.02.1 tested- Did it solve the stuttering? RTX 3080 12GB | R9 5950X | 32 GB RAM

Elden Ring PC performance benchmarked on patch 1.02.1 near the tree sentinel fight to test whether the framerate drops and stuttering/freezing was fixed by the latest patch. Tested on RTX 3080 12GB.

  1. The fact that we basically have zero info from FS about this and they're releasing patches that fix mouse movement is fucking infuriating. This should be an all hands on deck, zero-focus-besides-this-issue scenario.

  2. Man this would have been nice to have last night. I took on the tree sentinel and it was like every swing he did my frames would just dip into the gutter. Made everything go slow motion which sounds like it would make the fight even easier except button inputs went out the window with the frame drops. So frustrating to die to jank. I beat him, but it felt a lot more painful than it should have been.

  3. If only we would have something that makes that an none Issue. Damn it. Would be cool with PCIE 4.0 M.2 SSDs and those great RTX GPUs. Something like what the PS5 does with Loading in Assets…

    Something like RTX IO…

but that was forgotten over halve a Year ago by now i guess. Direct Storage isnt ready and so Nvidia shut up and never said a Thing again after 2 small Updates (about when to expect it. Spoiler… It was expected to launch End of the Year 2021).

But yeah, we still dont have it until today.

Dont get me wrong i dont know how much it would have helped such an Issue here… but i am sure it would have helped.

  4. I refunded the game, the stuttering was too much for me. On Xbox I don't get any stutters, and I'm running a 3090 with a 5900x, installed on an SSD. Once they completely fix it, I'll buy it again.

  5. I think some of my issues have been resolved, it's not nearly as bad.
However, I'm still encountering constant stutters and frame drops.
I have a GTX EVGA 1080ti, 850w PSU, 32 gb of ram, a i7 8700, and the game is currently installed on a portable 1tb SSD (I know, it's not ideal, but it's all I have right now until I can get an actual SSD).
I don't know if it's a hardware issue or game issue at this point, because I have buddies with better rigs who experience little to no issue with the game.
It's still pretty playable for me, but there are moments that definitely take me out of the experience because of the massive frame drops and stutters.

  6. I believe the fps issues are a combination of more than one issue. One is zone boundaries, another is shader compilation and another is ER is heavily dependent as a single threaded app which means hyper threading actually hurts performance since cpu cores split the processing. Disabling HT might be helpful in some setups.

  7. well the game runs fine now for me. xeon 2666 v3 turbo unlocked 32 gigs quad channel 2666 mhz timing 11 -11 -11 30.rx 570 oc to 1400 mhz core and 2000 mhz memory.ssd kioxia plus 3500 mb speed.all windows apps are off i used unlock all cores software and windows on preformance home.i have 1440p and setings at max the only one on mid is shadows 60fps to 50fps but is now 99% fluid and the game is amazing 👍

  8. Consoles aren't using DX12, which is why they don't stutter during asset loading. This is a mishandling of streaming and it won't get better until they address that.

This is behaving nearly identically to pre-patch for me. RX 6600 running 1440p at high/max, near 60fps until you hit a streaming zone, then it tanks to 30 or freezes for half a second

  9. Well, there are no sacred cows in gaming. I'm disappointed in the release, but very glad I didn't pre-order. It is still a question whether From will fix this major problem.

  10. Have they fixed the mouse sensitivity issue? Haven't tried since Sunday and I'm still set to 1 Sensitivity so it's not roaming around the world.

Some smoothness in gameplay, but still the mouse makes it very unbearable.

  11. This particular border load stutter has been massively reduced by a vkd3d workaround in the last few days when playing on the Deck or on Linux via some vkd3d caches and workarounds. It's probably a good sign that we will see a fix from someone eventually; AMD or NVIDIA may end up incorporating a workaround like Proton's in their drivers if From Soft does not fix the offending code.

  12. short answer it dosnt watch df video on this a 3090 at 720p low cant … its from loading in thigs for the frist time causes the stutter because its not using dx12 properly and dx11 option could fix it but otherwise this could be a super super long fix for ppl just booting this up… and thats why your seeing less stutters its somthing else not the gpu cpu capping

  13. On PC you can launch the game via "eldenring.exe" which bypasses the Online Cheat protection that is causing most of the stutter issues on PC, but you will be playing in offline mode. Right click send icon to desktop and launch the game from there, not the Steam launcher. Game then runs basically flawless.

  14. I'm not really far in the game, but for me just pass the gate from the camp area where you were fighting the mobs at the end of the video stuttered really bad for me when I got near this castle.

  15. I play on GTX 1660 Super and 1060 6GB MaxQ, Fps wise it works good, the stuttering is a bit problematic, but it's minimal. The only thing I need now is the 'Git Gud' part 🙂
