The +8 Halberd that you get from finishing Irina's quest and beating the NPC phantom is also great for early game.

First weapon there is a way to get it early: don't have much runes jump down and run as hell. Done. And there is a tipp for a good starting weapon from me: just kill patches he drops leather armor and a +7 spear

Is it just me or is the scaling on everything awful? Used to be when you got a Claymore +6 or 7 the scaling got better. This game everything's d-b why even have A or S exist?
