  1. Alternate solution that worked for me:
My keyboard is considered a controller in steam so I unplugged it and then launched the game and it worked just fine. I was able to plug it back in and it was still fine afterwards. So make sure you check if any of your peripherals are considered controllers.

  2. Tried plugging in my old PS3 controller for the game. Nothing I tried seemed to work out with that. The only "success" I had was that Steam recognized that I plugged in a PS3 controller. None of the inputs registered when launching the game with any of the setting configurations shown in this video. I even tried with all 3 of my PS3 controllers that I have and it didn't work. They're probably just old pieces of hardware that have gone through a lot, it's honestly surprising that they still even turn on.
Edit: After downloading PS Now and using the driver that comes with it I was able to get it working.

^^^ is the video that helped me do that if anyone else (anyone else in the entire world for any reason) is tryna use a PS3 controller to play the game on PC.

  3. For those of you that weren't helped by this video and who may or may not be experiencing different technical issues than what's mentioned in this video, here's what I did to solve my problem {wich was the controller hud opening up in-game every time I pressed the [A] button):

Open Steam (not in Big Picture Mode) >

Click on "Steam" (top left-hand corner of the screen) >

    "Settings" >

    "In-game" >

And DISABLE / Uncheck the "Enable Steam Overlay while In-Game" box.

    This solved my problem.

  4. Good video, but sadly none of this worked for me, not even unplugging my mouse and keyboard before starting. For some reason Elden Ring still detects my mouse, and the cursor shows up, even if its entirely unplugged. It even shows me the controller prompts, but its not working. Any ideas on how to fix this?
