  1. You nailed it in the comment about having freedom to really struggle with a boss, creating a huge celebration and endorphin party when you win or level up until the challenge is all but gone. I've seen so many people asking for an easy mode and I can only reply in my head that the entire game itself is one massive and elaborate difficulty slider.

  2. What a strange list, most of those bosses are really underwhelming. Specially the tree spirits, rennala and the mimic which are all very lacking in terms of difficulty at the point of being boring.

  3. Ya know youd think with nightmares being a mythical creature we would see a lot more firebreathing horses whats up with the lack of that lmao its not a new concept and its always cool as fuck

  4. Rennala? EASY?! I am very much struggling with her, although I haven’t summoned spirits yet. Last time she hit me with a dragon summon+moon+beam+bloodhound+troll combo

  5. As a melee only no summon player, I loved Margit for being difficult but fair, aesthetically cool, and mix of fast pace and slow pace. He really sets the stage for the rest of the game. I disliked Astel. One shot grab attacks, gravity slams, and the meteor summoning attack….

  6. I've never really played these type of games – always just play BG, Pathfinder, PoE etc type games – however when I was a kid I loved Zelda on the nintendo. Would you say this game is a sort of spiritual successor to Zelda and would I get similar vibes?

  7. As someone who beat every boss, secret and required, in the game in melee, there are a number of bosses that don’t feel like dark souls bosses. Cheap attack combos that can’t be dodged fully (I don’t use a shield) or movement that is so hyperactive that the camera spins making you sick. This is also the worst camera in a from soft “dark souls” like game. It gets infuriating with the larger bosses.

You can definitely tell the developers started to slack on some of the bosses. I assume that happens when you have over 30-ish that you have to tune.

Not bosses but the showdown with Alexander the Jar after helping him get back to full strength after Radahn, and the fight with Blaidd at the end of Ranni's quest line were so epic in a regretful sad way since you're forced to kill two of your friends basically.

  9. All of these bosses are beginning to mid game. The bosses at the end just get insane and overtuned: massive damage, massive delay, range, AOE’s and health pools. Last half of the game really started to show cracks with bad bosses and way too many reskins

  10. Hi mate I really like your style of video but I have to say that I don't understand what you mean by "cheese" when it comes to game mechanics, to me a cheese I more like an exploit by taking advantage of a glitch or something that wasn't intended by the developers. Any mechanic that was intended isn't a cheese unless the devs actually put it in the game as a joke. If people are able to use the games built in mechanics to beat the bosses easier than just using melee that is what the devs intended or I should say one of the ways that they intended for players to play. If someone chooses to fight a boss only using melee combat and little else that is their choice but that doesn't make other legitimate ways which might be easier a cheese. Well not to me anyway. I personally have been doing mostly melee but am trying to use more magic because it looks so good but I'm not used to it so I need to learn alot, either way I'm just in awe of how good this game feels to play I love it

  11. One that's memorable for me was Demi-Human Chief just because it was the first boss after I'd killed Elder Dragon Greyoll and the Golden Knight with the Dragon Cult Prayerbook so my character was level 32 had acouple dragon breath spells and Lightning Spear equipped. As well as the Icerind Hatchet and Carian Knight Set. It was the first boss fight where the dragon knight character I wanted to build felt like it was really coming together.

  12. My mimic tear fight was awesome.

Since I'm currently running a Faith/Dragon incantation build, we spend the whole fight slinging rings of light and dragon breath at each other.

    Twas dope.

  13. The two things I hate most in any Souls-like: Invulnerability status on bosses and attacks that simply require you to be out of the area around him, no matter where he's facing or whether you are airborne, dodging etc. Boss fights are the best, when it feels like a dance of dodge, jump, attack, heal. Furi was great for that, although it's not a Souls-like.
