1st comment! I got the River’s of Blood Sword, and didn’t even know about the Fire Giant.
I haven't gotten this far yet. What's so good about the weapon? Does it proc Rot or Hemorrhage?

You have +5 flasks but you’re in NG+?
Even tho the scaling is broken rn i swithed to this over my level 20+uchigatana with 102 blood loss. The special attack to me is just more worth it in terms of dps compared to stabbing myself and losing health for something that only lasts like 40 seconds to a minute. Rivers of Blood is gonna be op when they fix the scaling bug

I have this sword while still being in the regular 1st run through 🤔 same steps (get the grace before beating the giant)

It’s basic is mediocre but it’s heavy isn’t a lung like 90% katanas it’s a slash with reach, with a second heavy doing fire damage.
Also it’s fire damage scales with a certain incantation which YouTube can figure out making it hit 960 AR at level 10+
Oh did I mention it’s skill can one shot a entire team as it’s AOE.
An has a double bleed scaling on skill compared to other katanas.
Alongside it’s the sexiest weapon, with the best weapon art.
I thankfully came across this spot before hoping it was a church and got it on my first run. I’ll be able to get 2 now lol
