You don't have to get killed by that enemy to get there at volcano Manor in the first room to the right there is a secret room hit the wall follow it through there as soon as you get to a castle there's a body on the ledge where you could drop and follow your way down through there

You dont have to be killed by that enemy. Also you dont have to kill the godskin noble. Activate the bridge shortcut and you can jump up top on the other side and just run throught that door to get the ash of war

2:39 if I switch to another sword and then use something like blood slash or wave of gold do I get the damage boost?
Pair this with the spell with golden vow incantation and you have somewhere around 110-120 percent damage buff with I think 5 percent damage negation
