1 thing people are often confused about at the ending of the film is that because Cage & J Squad launched their attack several hours BEFORE the entire surprise invasion took place, & Cage got covered in the Omega's blood he was able to regain the ability to rewind time 1 day again like when he got covered in the Alpha's blood. So, when he went back 1 day this time he ended up in the helicopter since that's where he was several hours before waking up in the military base, but because the Omega died all of the other Mimics died as well, so Cage was able to restart the day but the Mimics stayed dead. So, if Cage ever dies again he'll restart the day since he still has the Omega's power, unless he gets a blood transfusion again.
It was a masterpiece. I am in Türkiye and watched it maybe 10 times like Oblivion

My theory for why Rita would have kissed him was because she had been trying to find the omega for such a long time and was now as close as she'd ever been.
The one scene that never made sense to me was how Rita argues with him about taking the helicopter in the backyard even though she has listened to every instruction he gave prior to that point knowing that he could see the outcome of the decision. Up to that point she waits for his queue and follows his lead only to then shift and act like he's stalling and wasting her time.
She knows because the day didn’t restart
Anybody seen the part movie blooper where Tom walks into the building with the omegas is in when he first walks in down the hallway you see a little girl it looks like or a person, was looking at him then they duck in the door 🤣 🤔
Also aren't we suppose to be getting a sequel to this?
Was a cool movie I rewatched it on Netflix the other day.
One possibility is that the Mimics were actually bio-engineered as weapons for a race of advance aliens looking for galactic conquest. That would seem, at least, one good explanation for the alpha Mimic's physic ability, and also, it would explain how these brutish creatures managed to develop and fly spaceships, their creatures built and program the ships to land on Earth. If that were to be the case, their creatures may not take losing too well and will try again, but with a more powerful creature.

Counter Theory: She understands that for Cage it has felt like a lifetime while for her it's only been a day
The only time that anyone could even remotely understand that feeling is possibly in a dream. I kind of understand what it's like to die from a the shockwave of an asteroid but I don't expect other people to but since by a certain point there's a good chance that we all have experienced crazy dreams like that we understand what it's like to have that sudden shift in normality.
If I remember correctly Rita was once close to someone but saw them die. Throughout that battle she probably saw someone that she tried protecting herself but failed to the same way Cage did. Was she romantically involved with him after a single day like a Disney princess, not in the traditional sense but she knew that from his perspective that he was with her and not in a usual stalker daydream way; no he literally lived it. All she did was allow Cage to skip a few steps.
Loved this movie.

They would know when time is not reset anymore when they do not wake up at the reset time after an apparent death. For example when they wake up in a hospital after an accident

This movie was ahead of its time. Definitely felt like a billion dollar film.
Its fascinating how the top brass of Warner Bros manage to f**k up everything everytime and still are able to hold their job… A movie which could have made 1 billion with a catchy name was given a super generic name and it made 400 million….
And the Board was A OK with that!!!
I ascribe to the theory that Rita had actually never lost power, she was guarded after those many lives, so those pretended to have lost. On repeated watch, you will notice that she knows things she should not, and kisses him because they have actually had this long relationship. Halfway through the movie, he starts to realize that she is lying about her ability, so he goes along with it, even to the extent that he lies, about losing his. They seem to both know too much about the last day. I.e., she places a grenade exactly where it needs to be to collapse the roof amongst, other things.
Mehhh,it's my opinion but i was an okish movie but nothing special whatsoever!!
