Topic: Economics of Pollution and Sustainability
Pollution generates contaminants into the natural environment that cause adverse change and pose obstacles to sustainable development. The latter could be achieved by implementing practices that support long-term economic growth without negatively impacting social, environmental, and cultural aspects of the community.

In this session, we will explain how Economists assess the social costs of production that exert negative effects on others. We will also discuss other environmental issues, like the agricultural impacts of droughts and agri-businesses’ responses. We will then evaluate alternative policies and management actions that enhance the economy’s resilience to climatic changes and propose several adaptations to climate risks.
