Easy Steak Recipe | New York Steak Strip | Juicy Cast-Iron and Oven Steak

Happy January! I can’t believe the holidays are over. It kind of makes me sad.

With the variety of ways to cook steak, this one happens to be easy and almost effortless. It’s also guaranteed to come out juicy, tender and very flavorful. Pair this with potatoes, rice and/or your favorite salad/veggies. A meal, everyone will think you worked hard at. So good!

All you need:
•2 tablespoons avocado oil
•2 (1.2 lbs) New York strip steaks, patted dry
•1 tablespoon black pepper
•salt, to taste (I used about a tablespoon)
•butter, to taste – optional

Directions
•Start by preheating the oven to 500F.
•Season steaks all over with salt and black pepper.
•Then heat a cast-iron skillet on medium-high heat. Drizzle oil and make sure it’s completely hot before adding the steaks. Now sear steak all over until slightly crusted – about 6 minutes.
•Next, place in oven and cook at 500F for 7 minutes for medium-well steak and 10 minutes for a more well done strip. If you prefer it more rare, cook for less than 5 minutes.
•Once cooked, top with butter and serve.
