Early Mornings | Abra Chat | Malinois Dutch Shepherd

Colder mornings here at the farm, ice on the grass, fog through the valley. The dogs and kids don’t mind. They love a good early morning run.

Back at the house Elle is watching a video of Cutie Pie when she was little. Dad is trying to put his boots on but the pack want a pat instead.

Out on a bush walk we stop for a chat about Abra. We also talk a little about the differences between Abra and the other Shepherds.

Winter at the farm is a lovely time of year. Whilst it’s chilly in the mornings and evenings, the days are sunny and bright. Perfect for a bush walk and roll in the paddock.

  1. Love the interpretations of each dog that Luke does I can Imagine the dogs actually saying that when Luke puts words into their mouths and how they will react so funny!!!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚β€

  2. While listening to you talk about Abra and her breed and training, etc. I thought back to when Luke would play hide-and-seek with the Daycare pack. It would be interesting to see the Farm pack searching for Luke in the bush. You might have to break into smaller groups, but I think it would be interesting for the dogs and for your viewers. (not trying to make more work for you. Just throwing it out there as an idea.)

All the dogs are enjoying life they really enjoy the runs in the early morning Maggie is funny how she is always looking around to see where Luke is even hearing the children enjoying themselves it’s so lovely. Have a wonderful weekend guys lots of love from Tasmania Australia

  4. I adopted a dog who was triggered to bite if anyone shouted. He never grew out of it. Some trauma from his early days really stuck in his mind. I had to always dive to grab him if anyone got verbally aggressive in my vicinity. I tried to let someone else adopt him but he came back to me after tearing the guy's trouser leg from hem to groin!
You are doing such a good job with dogs who might otherwise be euthanised.
This is a particularly lovely film Sam. Your photography and editing is beautiful.

  5. Another great video with lots of information. Abra is beautiful. I don’t think she’ll be going anywhere anytime soon. It’s lovely to see Cutie Pie looking so well.
All the dogs are so special.
Love to you all. Looking forward to seeing you next time. πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸΆπŸΆ

  7. I see your concern for Cutie Pie. Thank you for this lovely video. Take care. As a Canadian I kind of giggle at your winter. We would be having beers on the deck in your winter. Amazing different climates. Shadow has my heart.

  9. Very interesting discussion on the differences between GSD's and other shepherd types. I have had a couple of GSD's in my time and they were as Luke described. I have also worn the full body suit to give a retired police dog a birthday treat – never again ! I was wondering if Luke has come across any of the Livestock Guardian Breeds from Europe ? I rescued a Mioritic Shepherd 5 years ago, having been told it was a "shaggy mongrel" by the shelter, and its been quite a learning curve compared to any dog I've had before.

  10. So much to comment on .BUT for me Evie with Rosco " that's his office " 🏬 love it ,the deputy has is own office. However, didn’t see much 'work' being done ,laying down on the job πŸ˜… or maybe it was break time ⏲️ πŸ˜„ .
    Much love from the UK ❀️ 🀍 πŸ’™ πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

  11. Watching this again, I've just twigged that Luke said 'whipper snipper' and was referring to Gus's tail. I think it's what we call a strimmer in the UK. I thought he said whipper snapper to Wolfie as in 'you young whippersnapper'= young child. Ha! Love it.

  12. Surely The Master Of Puppies would know of a great home for Abra – as she really needs that Special person to continue her Special trainingπŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

  15. You are so blessed to have all that help to put on your socks. Also it’s so hard to see frost when we are sitting at 90 degrees here in the Midwest of the USA. Thanks for video taping your day.
